Camargo, IL (4-6-09) – by Kelly Brown – Public Relations Director – With the season just a few days away the roster for the 2009 O’Reilly Midwest All Star Sprint Car Series seems to be expanding everyday. Just this week two notable drivers inked their deals to compete in with the series full time for the 2009 season. They include a rising star in the sprint car world and a veteran of both winged and non-winged competition.

Kaley Gharst
Kaley Gharst was driving before he went to kindergarten; in fact he drove his first quarter midget when he was just 4 ½ years old. Since then the rising talent has climbed the ladder of open wheel series, taking on each series and becoming successful in each one. By the time he was eight, Gharst started driving junior sprints and by the end of his first season he was ranked 5th in the nation. Some of the accolades the Rookie-of-the-Year hopeful has accumulated include: 1999 Bandeleros Mini Cup Indiana and Illinois State Champion, 2005 Knoxville Nationals and Speedway Rookie-of-the-Year, in 2006 he recorded two wins at Knoxville Speedway, 2007 Sprint Invaders Champion and Driver of the Year, just to name a few. Coming into his first year of Midwest All Star competition the rookie has four races under his belt, with one win. With those records Gharst looks to be a favorite in the 2009 Midwest All Star Rookie-of-the-Year battle driving the #21 Webb Sprint.

Bill Rose
Bill Rose’s racing career has seen him pilot a variety of cars. He began racing on dirt in sportsman machines, before moving on to dirt late models, then in 1989 Rose turned his first laps in a sprint car and from that point he was hooked. Rose competed without a wing until 2002 and then bolted one on to compete with O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions, where he finished in the Top-10 in points three straight years. A native of Indiana, the veteran sprint car driver has also run with the World of Outlaws. This year the Plainfield, IN native will be turning his focus to the Midwest Sprint Car Series to give the youngsters in the series a run for their money in his self owned #6 sprint.

The Midwest All Star Series will be opening their season at Lawrenceburg Speedway in just a few days. For more information visit www.lawrenburgspeedway.com and book mark www.midwestallstarseries.com for all the excitement of the 2009 season.
