Haney, Rayfield and Lowry Win
NEW FLORENCE, MO (May 17, 2008) – After a week off due to the weather. Both fans and drivers alike were ready for a great weekend of racing. In the UMP A-Modified division the heat races were won by Leroy Haney, and Rick Conoyer. In the feature event, Leroy Haney held off Dean Vickers, Rick Conoyer and Mike Vanderiet, Jr. to pick up his first feature win of the season.
In the FASTRAK Late Model division the heat races were won by Gary Archambault and Eric Rudd. In the feature event, Gary Archambault jumped out to what appeared to be a commanding lead. Archambault held the lead until the last turn of the last lap. His car pushed high allowing Shawn Rayfield to beat him to the finish line. Following Rayfield across the line was Gary Archambault, Steve Long, Jr. and Eric Rudd. The win was Rayfield's second feature event at MCS this season.
In the UMP B-Modified division Jake Sewell once again showed his stuff by winning his second feature event in a row. Following Jake to the line was Brian Singleton, Randy Dickman and Dan Bimson.
In the UMP Super Street division, Eddie Lowry continued his domination of the class by winning his third feature event of the season. Eddie also won his heat race earlier in the evening to cap off a clean sweep of action in the Super Street class.
Following Lowry across the finish line was his cousin Buddy Lowry, Dan Kaminski and Alan Meyer, Jr.
The MCS Mini Stock feature event went to Ken Huber, who was able to pass Dylan Lemons for the lead early in the race. The win was Huber's second feature event of the season. Following Huber across the finish line was Dylan Lemons, Shannon Johns and Andy Dunn.
Dylan Lemons won the MCS Mini Stock heat race earlier in the evening.
The ext race on tap for Montgomery County Speedway will be on Saturday night, May 24th.
