It came to my attention, we were the hot topic from the races over labor day weekend. I wish you would have at least told me I had made such an effect on so many people so I could at least explain my actions. Never know maybe you don't know me, maybe I did a good thing. Well since it has been brought to my attention I will address your comments, then you can decide. With both sides not just one.
Three weeks ago a racer did something very unsportsman like and potentially dangerous. I have been going to the races for 15 years, I have seen many drivers do the same acts, but the crowd was allowed to show them that it wasn't acceptable and amazingly when the majority says it's wrong the racer changes his attitude. Well most of the time, some have to learn lessons the hard way. Without mentioning names I have seen one driver who now drives at Mongomery, when he first started out he had an attitude, the crowd let him know we didn't like it, but he didn't listen, then one night, his careless actions caused him to flip his car several times rolling down the track, instead of pushing someone out of the way it came back to haunt him. Since that night he has been a very clean cut driver. So we take what happened 3 weeks ago, what if the car doing the hitting caused the other car or himself to lose control and get hurt? I have been told by several drivers he still feels he had every right to hit Hamerle, well I have seen a person die at the races and I never want to see that again. I know these guys have an enormous amount of money tied up in these machines and can't afford to have them wrecked out of childish anger. So if my loud disapproval offends people I am sorry but I go to the races to see men win by their ability to drive not hit others, that should be saved for the demo's.
Now onto the next subject at hand, years ago I saw a driver whom I had never seen before, he was a beautiful driver, after he won the race the announcer informed us he was only 15. Now years later I recently found out from a friend this man now is that same kid, so that is where the kid rock came from. We talked with him one night and he said thank you I can use all the fans I can get. Amazingly since his fan club has been cheering for him he's been winning more races. For those of you who want to voice an oppinion on a man you have never met, he's not a hot head he's a man with a natural talent who loves to race. When your in the front and starting a race I am pretty sure your suppose to put your foot on the pedal on the right and go fast, he didn't jump the start, he did what all racers do. But as disappointed as we were that he got put back one we respect Mel as we always have for enforcing the rules.
I fell in love with Mike Hamerle's driving years ago, his ability to get in and out and around, I have been a fan of his for 15 years and I fail to see that changing, he has always been a clean driver with alot of talent.
My third driver I knew when he was just a young kid, back when his dad raced He has an ability his dad didn't seem to have (sorry Scott) and I am so proud of what he has done in the short time he has been racing.
As for my personal character, I am a single mother of two, I run a constructions site, and work 60 to 80 hours a week. I have never been to the east side so I can not say if my wearing a tank top with a shirt over it and changing into over sized tee shirts is doing what they do on the east side, if it is I have been lied too for many years. You don't know me and you don't know my sister, if you took as much time talking to my face as you talked behind my back you might have saved yourself alot of anger and found out we are there to watch races, cheer on the favorites who happen to be underdogs and help to assure hot headed racers save their anger for after they get out of the car not on the track, cars can hurt and people can get killed.
I would like to thank Mel for this track, I wish he was still behind the wheel amazing the crowd but we are counting on him teaching his son Brian to dazel us with dads talents. He's still using both hands Mel!
