Farmington , MO (June 15, 2007) -- Joey Montgomery, Fredericktown , MO came home first on Friday evening at St Francois County Raceway. Mike Francis, Fredericktown , MO won the Modified portion of the program and Chris Boyd, Park Hills , MO took home his fifth triumph in the Pure Street Division.
A J Bruns, Lincoln , IL started on the pole for the event and would lead lap 1. It took a short amount of time for Montgomery to get to the front from his second row starting position. He followed Jan Howard, Byhalia , MS then swept to the outside for the lead by lap 2 as he passed Bruns as well for the lead.
The Brothers Montgomery would pull away from the field and settle this between themselves. Lap after lap it was exciting. Joey had tremendous power coming off both corners. Tim had the pull through the corners. Both cars were about equal as to overall performance for the event
Tyler Thompson, Cape Girardeau , MO would bring out the caution flag twin for minor spins. “Doc” Sloan brought out the other caution.
Montogomery was chased to the line by his brother, Tim Montgomery, Fredricktown , MO in second, Jimmy Hurley, Springfield , IL , third, Jerrod Hull, Sikeston , MO brought it home fourth and Howard was fifth.
Both Joey and Tim Montgomery along with Hurley and Hull will transfer to Saturday Nights “410” Summer Nationals Feature.

These two would get out in front of the field quickly. However, company was coming to them fast as Billy Smith, Park Hills , MO , and Matt Eaton, Park Hills , MO decided to join in the dance for the win.
A few more laps ticked away and Francis would join in the fun. The run for the win had the crowd on the edge of their seats until the end. Two cautions slowed the event. Both were for stalled cars.
