Center Line, Mich. — Team Mopar’s Hoffman Auto Racing will head south for the weekend to throw its hat in the ring for the Mopar All-Star Showdown USAC National Sprint Car Series event on May 21. With NASCAR Busch Grand National and Craftsman Truck Series competitor Tracy Hines behind the wheel, the Hoffman team will have some southern connections as it seeks the event victory.

Hines will take the reigns of the No. 69 Hoffman Auto Racing machine in his second appearance for the team this season. The 2002 USAC National Sprint Car Series champion and USAC Super License holder will compete in selected events for the team throughout the season. The Hoffman Auto Racing team is pleased to have Hines back in the seat this weekend.

“It is always great to go to the heart of NASCAR Country and race,” said Tim Waechter, Vice President of Marketing for Hoffman Auto Racing. “It gives us a chance to see NASCAR stars in the pits, and show off our brand of racing to the great NASCAR fans. It will also give Tracy a chance to show his great skills driving an 800+ horsepower Mopar in his new hometown.”

The Hoffman Auto Racing team utilizes Gaerte Engines-built Mopar power. The No. 69 machine has seen victory lane already this season, as Jerry Coons Jr., won the USAC National Sprint Car Series opener at Eldora Speedway on April 1. Hines and Coons Jr., will continue to share the driving duties for the Hoffman Auto Racing throughout the 2006 season.

Showcasing the USAC National Sprint Car and Midget Car Series, the Mopar All-Star Showdown will feature two 50-lap feature event finales. The USAC Sprint Car Series event will present competitors with an opportunity to take home a piece of the $30,000-plus purse, while USAC Midget Car Series competitors will vie for over $20,000 in purse money and contingencies.

Metrolina Brand Promotions has dedicated a Web site, www.MetrolinaBrand.com, solely to the Mopar All-Star Showdown event.
