DOE RUN, MO -- (June 3, 2007) After too many rain outs to count so far, Mother Nature finally smiled and Doe Run Raceway was able to complete their second night of the 2007 racing season this past Friday night.

Much to the delight of the fans, Dean Adams Jr. made his first appearance in the 305 Sprint Car class. Adams, a well known 410 sprint car driver, proved he still knows his way around the racing surface, winning both his heat race and the feature event. Keith Buckley finished second to Adams in both events, Josh Worrell third.

Matt Greif put his zebra striped 1 3/4 hornet into victory lane twice as well, winning both his heat and the a-main. Joey Gilliam picked up two second place finishes behind Greif with George Smith rounding out the top 3 in both events.

Ron Moser picked up his first feature win in the Mini Stock class. Ray Statler finished second, Bob Wright third, Megan Bell fourth and Jimmy Thurman fifth. Casey Barnhouse won the heat race, Moser second and Wright third.

Scottie Gretzmacher and Jesse Wright put on quite a show for the fans in the Stock Kart class. Wright jumped out to an early lead and looked to be well on his way to a feature win until being passed by Gretzmacher in the late stages of the race. Wright had to settle for second behind Gretzmacher. Garrett Burns finished third, Damien Atchley fourth and Carson Heady fifth. Wright won the first heat, Burns second and Andrew Cash third. Gretzmacher won the second heat, Atchely second and Corey Wolfmeier third.

In the 600cc Multi class, Eric Edwards looked to be on his way to another feature win until experiencing difficulties midway through the race and retiring his car to the pit area. Andy Malpocker then assumed the lead and crossed the stripe first for his first feature win of the season. Mark Shirshekan finished second, HRE racing third, Jeremy Boyer fourth and Casey Barnhouse fifth. Edwards won the first heat, Shirshekan second and Boyer third. Malpocker won the second heat, Barnhouse second and HRE third.

Racing will resume Friday, June 8th with a special show "Kart Madness" for the stock Kart class. Other classes participating will be the 305 Limited Sprints, 600cc Multi, Mini Stocks and Hornets. Gates open at 6:00 pm, practice begins at 7:30 pm, racing begins at 8:00 pm.
