Moughan wins sprint feature at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (June 7, 2003) Jimmy Moughan of Springfield, Ill. picked up the checkered flag in the sprint car feature Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway after holding off the charge of Timmy Montgomery to earn the win.
Montgomery had to settle for second place with Tommy Worley Jr. taking third, Steve Short fourth and Bryan Matthews fifth. They were followed by Derek Rossio, Keith Burch, Jeremy Standridge, Rod Crabdree and Greg Burns.

Joey Montgomery was the winner of the first heat race with Timmy Montgomery second and Jason Keith third. Worley captured the second heat race with Burns second and Bob Thoman third. Moughan won the third heat with Standridge second and Danny Long third. Worley won the dash with Joey Montgomery second and Timmy Montgomery third.

Randy Forster of Farmington won his second consecutive Hobby Stock feature wins. Chuck Adams captured second place with Chris Boyd third, Kasey Nations fourth and Jeremy Greenwalt fifth. They were followed by Danny Mosier, Kevin Mosier, Billy Mayberry, Jim Abshier and Bruce Boren. Adams won the first heat with Greenwalt second and Danny Mosier third. Matt Eaton won the second heat with Mayberry second and Nations third.
In the Modified class, Robert Powers returned to SFCR and once again provided the fans a great show as he was able to hold off Joe Giesler to win the feature. Giesler settled for second with Billy Smith third, Mike Crader fourth and Tommy Worley Sr. fifth. They were followed by Jeff Lebaube, Pete Koenig, Kenny Kennedy, Bob Waterhouse and Matt Zimmerly.
Smith won the first heat race with Kennedy second and Kevin Gegg third. Powers won the second heat with Worley second and Waterhouse third. Lebaube won heat three with Giesler second and Crader third.
In the 600cc Multi class, Kent Buckley drove to victory in the feature with Dustin Barks taking second place, Junior Ferguson third, Casey Barnhouse fourth and Brett Anderson fifth. They were followed by Tyler Thompson, Josh Kennedy, Matt Dotson, Tommy Boyd and Jimmy Bridgemann.
Buckley won the first heat with Boyd second and Anderson third. Ferguson won the second heat with Bridgemann second and Dotson third. Barks won the third heat with Barnhouse second and Thompson third.
Mike Hess was the winner of the MARA Midget feature.

June 11 - 14 is Missouri/Illinois Clash Week. Sprints $2,000 to win. June 11 at I-55, June 12 at Godfrey, Ill., June 13 at Jacksonville, Ill., and June 14 at SFCR. (IMCA style Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 600cc Multis will also run at SFCR on June 14).
