Hot temperatures and dry weather conditions didn't deter the faithful race fans who attended the Mr. Oily and Castrol night at the races, as weekly racing resumed at West Plains Motor Speedway Saturday night.
In the IMCA Modified feature event Billy Romans of West Plains took the honors this week, followed by a host of local drivers including Carmon Vincent, Kevin Collins, Brandon Ball, Chris Piper and Jason Hughes all of the West Plains area.

West Plains' Chuck Russell won the Hobby Stock feature this week. Rounding out the top five were Bobby Bryant of West Plains, Brian Ratliff of Hardy, AR, Bobby Ratterree of Mtn. Grove, MO, Mike Elliott of Ellsinore, MO.

Next week Medlock Truss of Ash Flat, AR, will be sponsoring a full weekly racing program. Gates will open at 5 p.m., hotlaps at 6:30 p.m., with racing at 7 p.m. Adult admission is $7, senior citizens $4, kids 7-11 $2 and those 6 and under are always free.
