Rescheduled for FRIDAY night May 14th.
Columbus, MS-The Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series event scheduled at Columbus Speedway for this Saturday night has been postponed due to inclement weather. The event has been rescheduled as a special FRIDAY night race on FRIDAY night May 14th at 8pm. Track operator Johnny Stokes stated, “Our only option was to try to run the race on a Friday night otherwise we would be on top of other previously scheduled special events at other tracks in the area. I don’t want to do that. I hope everyone can come out and support us for the Friday night State Series race. It is going to be a great show.”
Columbus Speedway will be host the Columbus Speedway Weekly Racing Series Saturday night May 8th including a 30-lap Super Late Model main event. The May 8th race will also serve as the first point’s event of the season for the Columbus Speedway local divisions as part of the 2004 Columbus Speedway Weekly Racing Series. All divisions will be in action including Super Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Pro Street, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Cruisers.
The rescheduled event on May 14th will feature the 40-lap $2,000 and $250 to start, 1st Annual Richard Underwood Memorial MSCCS main event. Action will consist of Brown Engineering Pole Qualifying locking in the top eight qualifiers with positions 9 through 20 set by Cliburn Tank Lines B-Main events plus two provisional starters to complete the 22-car starting field.
Event information for next Saturday night May 8th has grandstand gates opening at 5pm with racing action at 7:30pm. Adult grandstand admission is only $10 with children ages 10 and under admitted free.
