Mt. Vernon raceway owner Rick Hecks son Charilie showed how big of a spoiled *** he is tonight. Afer his wheel flew off in the feature he and another driver pulled off and Charlie got in the other car. He then went out and finsihed the race in the other car. Durring the race he got together the number 6 car, which was being driven by a woman. But of coarse it wasnt a Hecks fault. So after she beat him, he drove around and slamed into her car, then pulled off the track and got out of his car like he was going to kick her *** or something. But im sure he was severely penalized for raming her after the race and for trying to start a fight huh rick? Charlie Heck, your my hero.

I'm not condoning what he did ...it was wrong and dangerous for him to do that....i do need to point out however it wasn't because she beat him, it was because he was the 3rd driver that the #6 woman had spun out...she had earlier in the race spun out that other woman and then spun out the B0 car of Mandrell. So yeah it was a STUPID thing to do but that is why he thought he had reason to do it.....she should have already been black-flagged

I agree with hairy, the "kid" showed his *** very well, not only in the race, but with trying to impress his girly friend all night also.

I have to commend Larry and the Flagman for trying to keep some control of professionalism on the track.

when i left the track last night. i was at the point of i dont care if i ever come back to mt vernon, after what i saw. if its going to be ran as a mom and pops, let the kids play on the track. and i like going to mt. vernon. its close, and usally ran professionaly. but there's a time and place for everything.

Sorry Rick, dont mean to slam your kid, but when they act like he did last night. you need to know.

Isnt this the same Heck boy who's father complained about being cursed at by the locals at Godfrey earlier this year? Why, of course it is. I guess the lesson here is its bad to cuss in the Heck's direction, but its ok for the kid to try and kill people at his daddy's track. Now, why doesnt any of this surprise me? Lets see, reason #76 on the list of reasons not to go to Mt Melvin.

If it is any consolation to you, I was at Ricks house when Bev came home and told him about Charlies episode, needless to say, it was a very heated discussion between Charlie & his father.Rick is alot tougher and expects better sportsmanship out of his sons. Had Rick been at the track, Charlie would not have pulled this.

What charlie did wasnt right, but that girl should have been blagflagged after the 2nd car she spun out. Also eck, hate to tell ya Charlie wasnt trying to impress any girlfriend, he has a wife, who works in the concession, so get your stuff straight before you open your trap. Rick doesnt go for his kids acting like that so Im sure it will be handled.

why aren't i surprised a post like that came from someone named 27RaceFan. Eck1 is right, it certainly looked as if he was trying to impress someone. maybe us fans? if so it didn't work. sorry charlie

27Racefan, I'm not sure if you remember the race where one of the Heck boys had a roll over or not, but I seen some of the poorest sportsmanship ever out of 2 of them and there dad sure didn't do anything about it!!! So don't say that Rick doesn't go for his kids acting like that, cause obviously he does or he would've done something about their behavior a long time before yesterday!!!!!!

For one, Charlie is an adult. rick is not responsible for the way he acts. Just like parents arent responsible for the way their "grown up" children act on this web site. However as the track promoter, Rick could do something about it. BUT Rick was not there Sunday so its not fair to accuse him of doing nothing. whatever happens with the situation is really between them and the driver of the other car.

charlie driving thru the pits like a bat out of hell after the race was B.S. also! i remember last year charlie himself kicking Aaron Hemann out for 2 weeks for doing the same thing! guess things changed huh ?

The post by Rick Heck.

I had the pleasure of taking my Late model to race at Godfrey today. My youngest and oldest sons went there today to run their hornets, we loaded them up and on our way to Godfrey we went. Being a promoter myself and knowing what weather does to a track I knew what we were in for at the track. The racing was pretty good, until we got to the hornet feature. Lest back up alittle bit, to when we arrived at Godfrey, when we arrived at the track the hotdog of the Godfrey track, who runs the 18 car in the hornet class, came to our pit and inspected my two sons cars, and after his visual inspection, he went and got the tech guys and told them that their cars we illegal, because of turbos and whatever else. The the tech guy at the track came to check out my two sons cars, he looks at both and found no turbo chargers on either one of them, but did find no screens on the windshield, and one had a trailer hitch on the back. We took the hitch off and went to the local Lowes store and got screen to put on both of them, got it done, and were told that they were legal. Then the local hotdog #18 came over and told my son that he is going to take them out. I told my oldest son to let him win the heat race, and in the feature to beat him, I also made the track offical aware of this threat, that the local hotdog, said he was going to take my youngest son out, we line up for the feature, they throw the green, and that is what the local hotdog does, except he did not tear up the car enough to take it out. My sons go on to finish first and second, we get our trophy and picture taken, and being my sons first feature win of his racing career,we pull off after pictures and go to our pits. Listening to all the threats form the hotdog and his cornbread fed wife, we just ignored them. They go wining to the promoter, that my sons car is illeagal, after it has been teched 2 times, and by the hotdog also, the promoter comes to our pits, and tells us he wants to tech the car for the third time, and wants us to bring the car into a crowd of some indignet people who are poor sportsmen, they look at the car and say that he is now illegal. This is the son that won the race, the other son, he had him pull his car down there, without even looking at it, says that he is disqualified for the color of his car. Afte a 45 min. ordeal of getting screamed at an cussed at, I said for get this and lets go and let them keep their money and keep the local hotdog HAPPY!!!!!! Then I go to the payout window to get my money for Rodney Melvins pay out for getting 4th place, and the lady at the window tells me I got my money and shows me a scribbled out signiture, I tell her this is not my signiture and have no got my check. At this point I am tired of arguing with the people at Godfrey racetrack, I just go to leave. The promoter walks up with my sons trophy, and tells me he can have the trophy, but not the $50 bucks. I said fine, the trophy means more to him than the money. Than I ask why i can not have my money for the Late Model feature, ha said he did not know, but would check, by this time I had been at Godfreyas long as I could stand. Maybe they'll take the $ 700.00 and buy a time clock for the late models.Just thought I would share this experience with you.

Excellent point. I was only assuming that the sons in question were Charlie and Daniel.

I'm curious how the #6
woman could be accused of
spinning Mandrell when
he hit her in the rear.
He spun as a result of
this contact. The #6
woman didn't seem to be
driving any differently
than Charlie was in his
second car of the race.
How many different cars can a driver use in one race?
So let me get this straight, the new track rules are if a car gets accused of spinning 3 cars out then Charlie gets to come around and try to kill them? Also, we can delay the race so a driver can change cars? Please have the announcer pass these rules along to everyone else.

Where in that from my previous post do you get the message that I think what he did was ok? We've been regulars at Mt. Melvin for four years now and I know exactly what kind of people the Heck boys are. If you read ALL of the post with at least half a brain you will see that I am not defending him.....I am giving the reason that I feel was in HIS head when he did it. The #6 car DID spin 3 people....like it or not. As for holding up a race to change cars...thats pretty much standard procedure for Mt. Vernon. The races didn't start AT ALL until Rodney Melvin got there, who cares if it was 30 minutes late. Regulars at Mt. V just take this kind of BS for granted.
