Mt Vernon?

eck1

I'm up there somewhere
 Whats going on with Mt. Vernon track? I have heard from some track champs that no trophy's were given out to any champs, no banquet, and no points money. that when the owner or so called owners and management are contacted everyone gets a no answer. I for one have donated a lot of money into the fifty/fifty pot every week. what happened to all the money? a lot of drivers deserve a lot more than hiding from the track management. i also would like to know is the track going to be operated again in 2003 or is this going to be a run and hide for all involved. if the heat is to hot for rick, dave, and all involved then its time to fess up and get out, but let the drivers and fans know whats going on. we deserve that much at least. Now is the time for everyone to speak up on this. i know im not the only one thats questioning this.

from what i hear, dave does not know if he wants to run track this year. he offered leasing the track back to ken lomax. ken has not made up his mind if he wants it or not. its a shame to have a nice place get messed up.

Looking Forward to it!!!!!

I was looking forward to the banquet this year and was hoping they would have one because it seemed like a nice place to run.

Ladies and gentleman, I am sorry no one has answered you from Mt. Vernon Raceway. I will try to answer for you what I know. I asked Dave if there was going to be a banquet, his reply was no. He said that he only took in $2000 in 50/50 money, and it was not enough to put a banquet on. As far as what the track is going to do for the 2003 season,I am not completly sure about. I do know that there are some big races scheduled, and that we have discussed leasing the track. Ken Lomax, is not going to lease the track. We have a corporate meeting in a week, to discuss what we are going to do. If we open the track, it will open the weekend the first of April. That will be a play day. We will run the same classes as before, that is Ump Late Models, Ump modifieds, Seel Block Late Models, Pure Stock Bombers, and the 4 cylinders.
Again I apologise for not knowing much, but you must take in to consideration that I did not run the track last year. Dave Wisdom made all decisions last year.Hopefully we can get this lined out and posted so that the fans and racers can plan to race at Mt. Vernon. Sorry for the inconvience. Rick Heck

:) Thank you Rick, I know you have been thru a lot lately, and its not your fault. the track did do a lot better when you ran it. I wish there was a way i could help, I know Mt Vernon track has every chance to be a great track in this area. If there is anything i can do to help, please let me know. I hate to see such a great track go down. and I love the races. If you dont already know who i am, just ask. I will help in anyway i can.
:)
