SEDALIA, Mo. (June 18, 2006) - The National Sprint Tour will invade Sedalia’s Missouri State Fair Speedway on Wednesday, June 21 to battle for the Ditzfeld Transfer, Inc.Summer Nationals title. Fans will witness an action packed evening of racing that will include a full NST program along with the Winged Outlaw Warriors 360 sprint cars presented by Arctic Cat and a special Celebrity Modified Race with all proceeds going to the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation.

The Ditzfeld Transfer, Inc. Summer Nationals will be the only mid-Missouri appearance the National Sprint Tour drivers like Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Tim Kaeding, Jason Meyers, Jason Sides, Tim Shaffer, Jason Solwold, Shane Stewart, Paul McMahan and Brian Paulus.

As an added bonus, race fans will also get to see 10 celebrity drivers fight it out in IMCA Modifieds in the Celebrity Modified Race. Drivers currently scheduled to appear include Clint Bowyer, Gary Scelzi, Ron Capps, Cory McClenathan, Doug Kalitta, Jim Head, Bubba the Love Sponge and Speed Freak’s Kenny Sargent.

“This is a fun deal we like to put on for the fans,” said Lasoski. “We have gotten a lot of positive feedback from the races we’ve done the past few years. It gives our dirt track fans a chance to see some of the leading talent on the NHRA circuit, NASCAR along with TV and radio personalities the race fans have come to know. With the NST, the WOW 360’s and the Celebrity Race, I think the fans will see a pretty solid program. We may even have a few surprises in store,” said Lasoski. “All proceeds from the race are going to a great cause in the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation and we have a ton of fun putting it all together.”

The Michael Ross Memorial Foundation was founded in honor of the son of Tony and Kathy Ross from American Compressed Steel, Inc. following Michael’s passing due to complications from Tay-Sachs disease. The MRMF is a non-profit charity organization supporting Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, Michigan.

Bay Cliff Health Camp is a six-week summer camp that assists severely handicapped children. The camp funding is raised to help remove financial burdens from the children’s families so the visits are completely covered including new wheel chairs, crutches or other medical equipment the children may need. The children participate in camp activities and are taught specific learning strategies to aid them and their handicaps.

“This Camp is a very special place and is something we all believe in. Each year we try to raise the bar and beat the previous year’s totals and that goal gets harder and harder to match every year. Last year we raised $190,000; which brought our total raised to over $700,000 since the inception of the MRMF. We have raised the bar and want to keep the totals growing each year,” said Ross.

Gates will open at 5:00 PM and racing begins at 7:00 PM. Fans looking to secure tickets can purchase them at Yeager’s Cycle in Sedalia, MO or by calling 660-826-2925. Discount coupons are available at area O’Reilly Auto Parts stores.
