FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – June 9, 2014 - Defending tour champion and current point leader C.J. Johnson of Quinter, Kansas leads the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car division back into racing action this coming Sunday night as they head to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas for the annual running of the “Hoosier Daddy” Father’s Day spectacular this coming Sunday night. The series modified tour will also be in competition.
Johnson has been a model of consistency in his 2012-2013 championship campaign and early season point lead as he last visited victory lane back on Memorial Day weekend of last year, this coming at RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas. The three time tour champions early point lead is slim as former champion Jeremy Campbell has his familiar #10c just five points out of the lead while J.D. Johnson sits third in the standings. Despite missing one of the four events that have been completed thus far, Norman, Oklahoma veteran Danny Wood is fourth in the standings while Jon Freeman currently sits fifth. Sixth through tenth in the standings are; Jeff Stasa, Ryan Roberts, Jake Grieder, Zach Blurton and Luke Cranston.
Stasa is coming off his first career sprint car victory, this coming at the last completed tour event at the new Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Oklahoma back in mid May.
In the tours rookie of the year standings, Grieder currently leads Raymond Seeman by 118 points.
This event will pay the standard $2000 to win and $300 to start.
Pit gates this Father’s Day Sunday night open at 5:00 PM with racing scheduled for a 7:00 PM start time. Adult general admission is $15 and $5 for kids, all pit passes are just $30.
