You have been asking for info, so here is some! :))

The NEW GMP Website is now up (http://www.gatewaymsp.com/) and the current schedule posted.

(http://www.gatewaymsp.com/events/) The Schedule is not yet complete as noted by no GMP or STLSCCA "Track Day" (PDX) listed, and other events not yet finalized; but is as correct as possible at this date. Many "old" events, as well as some new ones, will come to play at Gateway this year. Some worthy notes are below.

Saturday March 2 is shown as the "Volunteer Day" and as last year it is an effort to help get the track ready for this years events. Participants cross all lines of clubs, groups, and racing interests to mow, weed eat, paint, pick up trash, etc.. More info will be posted soon.

Saturday, March 9 will be the "Gateway Kick-Off", or open house, and is likely to include racers and activities by many groups who call GMP home. Again, more information will posted soon about this event as well.

NASA will kick off Road Racing this year with their event on March 23/24. Follow their website for additional information at http://www.nasaproracing.com/

SCCA Road Racing will make it's return to Gateway on April 20/21. More info on this, and all other STL SCCA activities will be found at http://www.stlscca.org/

June 1 will see the return of USAC Silver Crown racing to GMP. Many think they have been the best racing to watch before at GMP, with lead changes on many laps and even several on a single lap! Last year's testing event had them hitting over 200 mph on the OVAL.

July 17-20 belongs to the return of Run 'n Gun activities. These are primarily "kit cars" and will include Road Course, Parking Lot, and Drag Strip competitions.

September 21/22 endurance racers of CHUMP CAR will be back on a (hopefully) cooler date. Format of twin 14 hour events or a full single event of 24 hours has yet to be determined. This is a great event for those interested, and last year there were only seconds determining some results even after that many hours!

September 26-29 is the big NHRA show. If you have never seen the "big ones" race in person - you REALLY need to! Even those not interested in drag racing (or even racing at all!) will be amazed by the speed and acceleration of these racers. Bring ear plugs, and turn off your car alarm. ;)

There are many more listed, motorcycles, go-karts, "XDRL", 3000GT, "XTreme XPerience", drifters, Porsche, BMW, etc. and others are still possible too. Tune in, sign-up, and stay informed on the GMP website and FaceBook pages!

When I first posted this there were still a few bugs on the new website. It appears that they have been resolved for a while now so try it again if you haven't yet. The volunteer work day that was very well attended last year, will be repeated next weekend (March 2nd); and the "Kick-Off" a week later. See the website for more info as well as the Facebook page; and if you haven't yet - "Like" their page. The goal before the start of the 2013 season is 8,000 !! https://www.facebook.com/GatewayMSP http://www.gatewaymsp.com/promotion-2/

2013 RACE Season "Kick-Off" at Gateway Motorsports Park tomorrow, March 9! Many racers of all sorts will be there for some bench racing, reconnecting, smack talking, music, BBQ, and a bunch of other stuff too. Several Clubs, including SCCA, on hand to recruit, answer questions, provide assistance, etc..

NHRA will be doing Chassis Certifications. SCCA will be doing Annual Techs for SOLO, PDX, Club Racers, and providing information on Autocross, RoadRally, RallyCross, RoadRacing, PDX, and even Stage Rally. Public invited from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Everyone welcome and it's free! It looks to be a very nice day so why not drop by, or spend the day!!
