O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series at Twin Cities and Brownstown April 18 and April 19

Louisville, Kentucky-April 13, 2008- The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Graphic Impressions will begin its seventh season of Super Late Model competition with a doubleheader of action in the Hoosier State of Indiana on Friday April 18 and Saturday April 19.

After being weathered out last weekend, America’s most competitive regional series is set to return to Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, IN on Friday evening April 18 and then make the first of three scheduled visits to Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN on Saturday evening April 19 for the 25th Annual Hoosier Dirt Classic presented by Bob Poynter Ford of Seymour. Both events will consist of a full schedule of practice, Racing Optics time trials, Graphic Impressions, K&N Performance Engineering, Real Wheels, and Wayne Bowen Racing Supply qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $3,000 to win A-Main for the Super Late Model division of the Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series.

Activities for the April 18 Twin Cities Raceway Park event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 4:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:45 p.m., while practice will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:30 p.m., with racing to follow immediately after time trials. Ticket prices for this event will $15 in the general admission area and $30 in the pit area. Also in action at this event will be the local divisions Pure Stocks and Mini Stocks. There will be an open practice at Twin Cities Raceway Park from 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 16.

Activites for the April 19 Brownstown Speedway 25th Annual Hoosier Dirt Classic presented by Bob Poynter Ford of Seymour will have pit and general admission areas open at 3:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 5:15 p.m., followed by practice at 5:30 p.m. Time trials will start at 6:00 p.m., with racing set to begin at or before 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices for this event will be $15 in the general admission area and a pit pass will be $30. Local divisions in action at this event will be UMP Modifieds and Bombers.

The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division has made one previous appearance at Twin Cities Raceway Park and that was in 2007 and Rick Aukland was winner of that event. Last Saturday’s scheduled event for April 12 was weathered out, with a possible make-up date to be announced at a later date.

The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division has made five previous visits at Brownstown Speedway. Those event winners include Steve Barnett, Greg Johnson, Jack Sullivan, Don O’Neal, and Rohn Moon.

The A-Main purse for both events on Friday April 18 and Saturday April 19 is as follows: 1st- $3,000, 2nd- $1,500, 3rd- $1,000, 4th- $800, 5th- $750, 6th- $700, 7th- $650, 8th- $600, 9th- $550, 10th- $500, 11th- $450, 12th- $400, 13th- $350, 14th- $350, 15th- $325, 16th- $325, 17th through 22nd- $300, 23rd through 24th- $250

Twin Cities Raceway Park is a 3/8th mile semi-banked clay oval promoted by Mason and Tawnya Fleetwood and is located 1.3 miles south of U.S. Highway 50 on State Route 7, then 1/4 mile east, then 1/3 mile north on the first road after crossing bridge, which is Rockcrest Road. Brownstown Speedway is a ¼ mile semi-banked clay oval promoted by Tim Keithley and is located on Highway 250 at the historic Jackson County Fairgrounds, 1.0 mile southeast of Brownstown, IN.
