O’reilly Thunder Racing Series Modified Shootout This Friday

MEMPHIS, TN (April 29, 2003) – The O’Reilly Thunder Racing Series will return to action this Friday night at the Memphis Motorsports Park Dirt Track.

Less than a month into the 2003 season, the race fans of the midsouth have seen the late models and sprints cars compete for the increased purses and prestige. This Friday night the modifieds will take center stage as they battle to be the “King of the Park” in the Rick’s Powder Coating Modified Shootout paying $1,200 to win in the 20 lap feature event. After three race nights, three different modified drivers have graced victory lane with Mark Stephens, Andy Tennison, and Craig Dunavan each picking up one win. A field of over twenty modifieds will be in the hunt this week for the top prize. Also, on the card for this Friday night are the sprint cars, late models, and street stocks.

The pit gate opens at 5:00 with spectator gates opening at 6:00. Hot laps are at 7:00 and racing starts at 8:00.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults. Children 11 years of age and under are $2 (Age 5 and under free). Pit passes are $25 for ages 12 and up and $15 for children 6-11 (Age 5 and under free).

Memphis Motorsports Park is located at 5500 Taylor Forge Drive off of Fite Road between Highway 51 and Raleigh-Millington, seven miles north of I-240 near Millington.
