The event features over 200 laps of racing action in seven of the area’s most popular divisions. The slammed program of racing features a full slate of side-by-side action including qualifying races and main events. Over $20,000 in prize money is up for grabs guaranteed to make it one of the speedway’s largest events of the 2008 racing season.

The 2nd Annual “Bootheel 200” was originally scheduled for March 28-29th before being washed out by heavy storms. Then, the re-scheduled two-days of action saw day one completed on Friday, May 9th before late afternoon storms washed out the Finale on May 10th. The remaining one-day format for the Bootheel 200 Finale on Saturday, July 12, 2008 features a complete racing program including test and tune hot laps, qualifying heat races and main events in seven classes. Those classes include the 700 horsepower, 120 mile per hour, O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series winged outlaw style sprint cars plus the mighty Rislone USCS Modified Series, Fastrak Late Models and Malden Speedway Hobby Stock, Street Stock, E-MOD and Mini Stock classes.

The sprint car event will award points towards the O'Reilly USCS Mid-South Thunder regional Championship. The O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series main event will pay $2000 to win and it is possible for one driver to collect $2200 by winning the Lucas Oil Power Dash, their qualifying heat race and the 30-lap O'Reilly USCS A-Main event. Top sprint car entries are expected from at least five states. The O'Reilly USCS sprint cars will contest a complete winged sprint car racing program during Saturday's portion of the racing action. The O'Reilly USCS sprint car format will include test and tune hot laps, The Lucas Oil Power Dash six-cars, six-lap shootout plus qualifying heat races, and main events.

The Rislone USCS Modified Series event features a full racing program showcasing many of the Mid-South's top open wheel modified drivers competing for $1200 to win in the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified "Bootheel 200" Championship race. The race also serves as the Rislone USCS Modified Series Speedweek 2008 Finale. The open wheel modified series held its Speedweek 2008 Round Two at Malden Speedway last Friday night when Larry Hull from Old Appleton, Missouri collected his first-ever Rislone USCS Modified Series feature win. On Saturday night there will also be a $500 to win Rislone Speedweek Dash for the top ten drivers in the Rislone Modified Series Speedweek 2008 points who have participated in at least four of the Speedweek events.
