MEMPHIS, Mo. (April 22, 2005) -- First, the bad news ...

Mother Nature did not cooperate with teams and fans on Friday, dumping rain on the Memphis, Mo., area and forcing track officials to cancel Friday's O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series race at the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway.

Friday's event was scheduled to be the first of two days at the 3/8-mile clay oval speedplant, and the ninth round of the 10-round Wanders Automotive & Machine Swing #1.

Now, the good news ...

O’Reilly USMTS officials have announced an exciting doubleheader for Saturday which will feature two complete shows in one day of racing.

"The teams have been looking forward to the Memphis show, and the fans here have been hungry for some racing after a long, cold winter," said O’Reilly USMTS promoter Todd Staley. "We planned on giving the drivers and fans two good shows, and we're not going to let Mother Nature stand in our way of doing just that."

The two-day "J&J Ag/Travel Connection USMTS Missouri Spring Challenge" will now be known as "J&J Ag/Travel Connection Super Saturday" at the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway, supplying race fans with more than 200 laps of heart-pounding action and screaming Modifieds from Noon until dark.

The first complete show on Saturday will kick off with gates opening at 11 a.m. Hot laps are slated for 12 Noon with racing at 1 p.m. After a brief pause to let drivers and fans catch their breath, the second complete show will start with hot laps at 6 p.m. with racing to follow.

General admission for each show will be $12 for adults and $4 for kids. Pit passes per show are $25 each.

A field of 24 cars will start the Holley "A" Main each show, with qualifying through heat races and "B" Mains. The top 12 drivers in Home Pride Passing Points accumulated in the heat races will be locked into the Holley "A" Main for each show. The top 8 drivers in Home Pride Passing Points will re-draw for starting positions 1-8 in the Holley "A" Main. An additional 10 cars will qualify from the "B" Mains, with two provisional starters added to the Holley "A" Main to create the 24-car starting field. Additional sponsor provisional(s) may also be awarded.

Each Holley "A" Main will pay $2,000 to win!

"J&J Ag/Travel Connection Super Saturday" will be the ninth and 10th races of the season for the O’Reilly USMTS -- part of 10 events comprising Swing #1 on the 2005 slate.
