ASH FLAT, Ark. -- Now that the 2005 racing season is well underway, it's time to make plans to attend the 13th annual Show-Me 100 at West Plains Motor Speedway over the Memorial Day Weekend. The season's first major late model gathering is shaping up to be even bigger and better than ever, as Don Gibson announced the title sponsor for this year's event.

O'Reilly Auto Parts of Springfield, Missouri, has been actively involved with the West Plains facility for a number of years, according to Gibson, and has now signed on as the title sponsor for this years edition of the Show-Me 100. As O'Reilly's involvement in dirt track racing continues, corporate officials are pleased to be adding the Show-Me 100 to O'Reilly's already impressive docket of racing series, tracks and events.

This year's O'Reilly Show-Me 100 will once again be toward the top of the heap of purses paid. Every late model driver will tell you, no race pays back better than the Show-Me 100. The late models will be competing for over $180,000 in posted awards and the winner's share increased to $39,000 in 2005. The race will pay $3,900 to start the feature event. As always, the event will entice the top dirt late model teams to the Missouri Ozarks and the West Plains Motor Speedway over Memorial Day Weekend.

The event will again cover three nights over the Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-28. On Thursday, May 26, the traditional practice night events will include test and tune time from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. The popular BBQ Dinner with the drivers and crews will follow. The dinner is free to everyone with a pit pass and grandstand spectators are welcome to join for a modest $5 ticket fee.

Friday, May 27, the late models time trial qualify for heat race positions. The traditional Manufacturer's Dash will see each of the fastest qualifying driver's of the represented chassis manufacturers compete in a challenging dash for cash. The Lunati Race of Champions will pit all the past event winners in a thrilling star studded event. As a support class, a full unsanctioned modified event will pay $500 to win.
On Saturday, May 28, the late models will continue to qualify with their heat races. Last Chance races will follow to complete the field of 24. The open wheel modifieds will run an additional unsanctioned event, paying $750 to win.

The 13th annual O'Reilly Show-Me 100 will cap off the weekend as another driver attempts to add his name to the prestigious list of event winners. Will Billy Moyer, Jr., Scott Bloomquist, Freddy Smith, Rick Aukland, Terry Phillips, Ray Cook or Wendell Wallace be able to repeat their wins, or will a new driver pull onto Victory Lane to be greeted by "Gus the Cool Mule", the famous track mascot?

Ticket purchasing is being simplified this year with the addition of O'Reilly Auto Parts as the title sponsor, general admission tickets will be available at neighborhood O'Reilly Auto Parts retail stores at the same price as they can be purchased at the gate. Adult general admission is $35 for the event, children age 7-11 $15, and those 6 and under are always free. Reserved tickets will have to be ordered from the offices of Gibson Racing or at the track. Reserved front stretch seating is priced at $40 for the event. Credit cards will be accepted at all locations and by way of phone orders.
