The earth will shake on Friday, September 17, as the O'Reilly MLRA Super Late Models bring their 2004 Thunder Tour for a visit to LA Raceway in Lamonte, MO.
"We're real happy that we could work out a deal with Mike White and LA Raceway to visit his track this year," stated Harriett Chancellor, MLRA owner. "They've worked hard to put together a great facility and it will be great to see our MLRA drivers taking to the track."
With the 2004 Thunder Tour heading into the homestretch you can bet that drivers will be making the trip in to try and improve on their status in the final standings. Point leader Alan Vaughn will attempt to pad to his total as local favorite Jason Bodenhamer looks to close in on the defending point champion in an attempt to snag away the crown. Not to be outdone Al Purkey of Coffeyville, KS sits in third spot and will look to gain ground on the two frontrunners. Other MLRA regulars expected to attend include David Turner, Dale Eaton, David Barker, TJ Kuykendall and Gary Webb just to name a few. In addition several non-regular drivers have stated an interest in making the trip in including Terry Phillips from Springfield, MO along with Darrell and Dustin Mooneyham, Shane Essary, Brandon McCormick, and CJ Lyle.
The action all gets underway with an Engine Manufacturers Dash culminating in the 40 lap feature event with a $2500 top prize to the winner. The LA Raceway Street Stock division will also be competing that evening where the winner will walk away with $300 for their efforts.
Gate open at LA Raceway at 5:00 pm with racing action hitting the track at 7:30 pm. Adult admission is only $12.00 with kids 6-12 only $5.00 and under 6 are free. Pit passes are only $25.00.
LA Raceway is located just south of Lamonte, MO. Travel south, from 50 hwy, on SR 127 to Y Hwy then travel 3.5 miles west to the facility.
