O'Reilly NARA BoB Series to Crown 2006 Champion at Lake Cumberland Speedway on Saturday, October 14th

LEXINGTON, KY -- The O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sports Shirts will visit Burnside, KY's Lake Cumberland Speedway on Saturday, October 14th to close out the 2006 racing season for the Series and crown the 2006 Series Champion. In series' three previous visits to Lake Cumberland this season, side-by-side racing and wild finishes have been the norm as David Webb won the last two events while Johnny Wheeler won the first.

Saturday, October 14th, the Lake Cumberland Speedway will play host to the nation's most competitive regional racing series when the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series visits town. A complete racing program is planned with Racing Optics Time Trials, Mason Racin'/Arizona Sport Shirts Heats, Design 500 B-Mains, and a 40-lap O'Reilly Auto Parts A-Main paying $3000 to win. Past BoB winners at Lake Cumberland include Jesse Lay, Darrell Lanigan, Timmy Yeager, John Gill, Johnny Wheeler, and David Webb.

Heading into the final race of the season, Scottsburg, IN's Mike Jewell simply has to make an appearance to clinch the 2006 O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series championship. Isom, KY's Chris Combs clings to second spot in the standings, just 80 points ahead of Campbellsville, KY youngster Justin Rattliff. Rattliff also leads Dan Deaton in the Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year Standings. Defending Series Co-Champion Tim Tungate and 2004 Series Champion Aaron Hatton round out the top five. Well over 200 different drivers have competed with the Series in 2006.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is a 3/8-mile clay oval located just south of Burnside, KY on the east side of US 27 on Racetrack Road (1/2-mile south of Burnside Island State Park). Since the start of the racing season, two and three-wide racing has been the norm this season at Lake Cumberland with close finishes in practically every O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass event held there in 2006.
