Baton Rouge, Louisiana (March 18, 2003) - The O'Reilly SUPR Late Model Series is headed for Boothill Speedway looking to get its season back on track following the postponement of the O'Reilly SUPR All Star Race of Champions. The next 4 dates find the series heading further and further from its Baton Rouge base with races in Shreveport (Boothill this weekend), followed by a East Texas visit to Kilgore, Texas (Lone Star Speedway on April 5th) and then a more northerly track that will see the tour visit Texarkana (67 Texarkana Speedway on April 11th) and finally Little Rock (I-30 Speedway on April 12th).

The O'Reilly SUPR Late Model Series returns to Boothill Speedway for its 14th season of racing at the North Louisiana speed plant where a strong contingency of local competitors will be eyeing a victory over the touring professionals. Kenny Merchant, current point leader on the 2003 O'Reilly SUPR Late Model tour would of course like nothing more than to return to victory lane at Boothill, a place he found himself when the tour last visited the 3/8th mile track in August of 2002. Tommy Surrett, currently in 4th place in the 2003 O'Reilly SUPR standings, Marlon Wild - a seven-time winner on the circuit and local favorite Lee Davis also recorded wins last year at Boothill and will also be looking for a return visit to victory lane this year.

Kennith Crowe will be aiming to build on the momentum he gained at the season-opening Mardi Gras Nationals where a pair of top 5 finishes had the Port Allen, Louisiana competitor within grasp of the point lead. Ryan Plaisance that is also looking to build off his early season success that has seen the Harvey, Louisiana competitor already claim a Lloyd Wild Jr. Logging Hard Charger award for passing the most cars in a feature. Plaisance claimed the award after starting 21st and finished third on opening night.

Local Late Model action got underway this past Saturday night and Jason Ingalls, the third generation competitor from Longview, Texas claimed the win, a feat he would like to repeat this weekend. Ingalls topped Jon Mitchell, who was taking advantage of the off weekend to tune his car up for this weekend's event. Mitchell is currently 7th in O'Reilly SUPR Late Model points and the Texarkana, Texas competitor is trying to return to the Boothill victory lane, a place he last occupied in March of 2001.

The O'Reilly SUPR Late Models will be joined by all of the local classes including the Open Wheel Modifieds, the Streets Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Limited Modifieds and Trucks. The Boothill pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and the racing gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Boothill Speedway is west of Shreveport on I-20 to Carthage-Morningsport exit (#3), then north 0.2 mile, then east on McGee Road.
