P.R.O. Super Late Model Series Opener At Columbus This Saturday, March 13th PLUS Added Money In All

Columbus, Mississippi (03/09/10) – The Promoters Racing Organization (P.R.O.) Super Late Model Series will host its inaugural event as it invades Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi this Saturday, March 13th.

The newly formed P.R.O. Series was designed with two thoughts in mind. First, the tour wanted to give Super Late Model racers in the Mississippi/Tennessee/Alabama/Arkansas area a place to race close to home for purses that they could afford to race their cars. Secondly, the sanction wanted to have special event purses that would allow tracks to afford having a Super Late Model special. With eleven races already on the docket, and more still to be added things have come to fruition.

Drivers have also begun to voice their intent to compete for the tour championship. Drivers, who have indicated an intent to possibly contend for the title already include David Breazeale, Neil Baggett, Rick Rickman, Ross Camponovo, Kyle Beard, Brian Rickman, Ray Mauldin, Anthony Burroughs, Mark Dodson, Klint Byars, Dean Carpenter, Jason Milam, Jeremy Glasgow, Johnny Stokes, Bradley Price, Jimbo McDuffie, Stacy Caldwell, Bo Gordon, and more.

Drivers, who run for the tour P.R.O. Championship will be presented with a unique opportunity. They will be eligible for the P.R.O. point’s fund, which boasts at least $5,000 to the champion, and a top ten payout that will be determined by sponsorship and entry fees. There is no membership fee required to be eligible for the P.R.O. point’s fund, and a driver’s ten best finishes count toward the final point’s standings.

Drivers, who run the P.R.O. Super Late Model Series will also be eligible for the NeSmith Super Late Model Series point’s fund if they buy a $100 NeSmith membership. The best ten finishes from each driver in P.R.O. series action will be counted toward the point’s fund in the NeSmith Super Late Model Series as well, which boasts a $10,000 first place prize for the point’s fund. As a result, if a driver opts to buy a NeSmith membership, then they will be eligible for two point’s fund, and a total possible point’s prize of $15,000 for just running at least ten events with the P.R.O. tour!

In addition to the other posted prizes, if a driver wins the NeSmith Super Late Model Series title utilizing a CT525 motor, then they will receive an additional $5,000 bonus.

The P.R.O. tour will roar to life this Saturday, March 13th at “The Baddest Bullring in the South,” Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. The event will feature a $2,000 to win/$150 to start, 40 lap main event. For more information on Columbus Speedway, please visit www.ColumbusSpeedway.net .

Not only will the Super Late Models be racing for a special purse, but also battling for increased money will be all of the hardcore, local divisions at Columbus Speedway. The Crate Late Model division will be battling for a $1,000 to win/$50 to start purse. The Open Wheel Modified division will be racing for $600 to win and $30 to start. The Street Stock division will see a $500 to win and $30 to start feature event, and last but not least the Mini Stocks will be battling for $300 to win and $30 to start. No entry fee will be required in the local divisions.

An open practice session will be held on Friday night, March 12th from 7pm to 10pm. Pit admission is $15 and grandstand admission is free.

On Saturday night, March 13th, please note the early starting time with the drivers meeting at 5pm with racing action at 6pm.

On Saturday night, adult grandstand admission is $15, $12 for children (11-17 years of age), active military, and seniors, and kids 10 and under are free. Pit admission is $30 for adults, $20 for children 6-10 years of age, and 5 & under free.
