The Midwest Sprint Cars highlighted an action packed night of dirt trackin’ Friday at PIR. Once again over one hundred racecars jammed the pit area.
Midwest Sprint Cars
Transplanted Californian Robert Ballou, now living in the heart of Sprint Car country (Camby, IN), made it a PIR clean sweep by winning the 20-lap feature by over a half lap. Ballou also won the first MSCS appearance at PIR on June 27. Second place went to Ricky Williams of Clinton, OH and Kyle Cummins of Princeton, IN was third. Ballou and John Memmer of Evansville, IN were heat race winners.
UMP Modifieds
Randle Sweeney of Clifty continued his domination of the Modified division by wining his ninth 15-lap feature of the year, his fourth in-a-row. Paducah’s Todd Miller was second with Phillip Hill of Greenville third. Each driver in the top three of the feature also was a heat race winner.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of co-owners as a partner in September of 2006. In 2008 the 3/8th mile high-banked oval hosts several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights of Stars, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, the USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Another six-division program is on tap next Friday, August 8, with five UMP divisions and the Vintage Racers. It will be Budweiser Night at the track with prizes and surprises supplied by Golden Eagle Distributing of Paducah.
NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of co-owners as a partner in September of 2006. In 2008 the 3/8th mile high-banked oval hosts several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights of Stars, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, the USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge.
