UMP Crate (Pro) Late Models
Third generation driver, Tanner English of Benton led all 20 laps of the spotlight race of the season for this popular division. In doing so, he broke Tait Davenport’s seven-race winning streak and collected the $1000 first prize supplied by Wier Chevrolet of Red Bud, IL. Josh Harris of Utica and Troy English of Calvert City followed under the checkered flag. Both Englishes and Harris won the heat races.

Young gun, JR Mason won his second 12-lap feature of the season on the same day he was featured on the sports page of the “Paducah Sun”. West Paducah’s Michael Watson was second, Lloyd Lingle of Buncombe, IL finished third. Mason and Paul Howard won the heat races.
4 cylinder Warriors
Chalk up another ten-lap feature win for Keaton Downing of Gilbertsville. Jeffrey Bailey of Calvert City and Paducah’s Matt Hartman were second and third. Downing and Hartman won the heats.
Super Cell Mini Sprints
Point leader Jarrett Cathey of Paducah captured the eight-lap main event besting Mayfield’s Brian Nance and Jason Goodwin of Dawson Springs, who also won the heat race.
Another six-division program is on tap next Friday, July 11, with five UMP divisions and the Vintage Racers. PIR will present its annual fireworks display, sponsored by WPSD-TV 6.
NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of co-owners as a partner in September of 2006. In 2008 the 3/8th mile high-banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights of Stars, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, the USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge.
