(Paducah, KY.) 5/22/06 Paducah International Raceway will continue racing every Friday night this week by honoring the Men and Women of the Armed Forces.

As Memorial day weekend draws near and the nation focuses on remembering the men and women who put themselves in harms way, PIR would like to remember our heroes that are active and those who have served by inviting them to the races Friday night. Any service member from any Branch with a valid and current ID will be admitted into the grandstands for 1/2 price.

Racing will also highlight a weekend of tradition. The CARS Crate Late Models will run for a $1000 dollar to win purse. The Crate Late Models have had strong showings here at PIR with side by side racing and just 2 weeks ago a horrific crash that saw the drivers walk away without serious injury.

The weekend also marks Ken Schrader’s Birthday. Fans wearing Schrader gear to the track will also receive $3 off of their admission price.

Other divisions racing Friday night include the UMP Late Models, Modifieds, and Street Stocks. Outlaw Mini Sprints and the Wild 4-Cylinder Warriors will race on the 1/5th mile at PIR.

The Gates open at 4pm with racing at 7:30. Tickets are $10 dollars for Adults and Kids 12 and under are FREE. For more information call the PIR Hotline at 270-448-4PIR or the Track at 270-898- SHOW (7469).
