Tri-State Challenge Roars Into Paducah on Friday, June 4th
Paducah, KY- May 27, 2010- Four tracks, in three states, in four days… what else could a race fan ask for? The Tri-State Challenge comes to Paducah International Raceway on Friday, June 4th. The fan favorite Tri-State Challenge is a series of Northern All Star Late Model races held in four days, at four different tracks, in three different states with each track paying $5,000 to the top Late Model driver. One lucky driver could walk away with $20,000 if they can pull off the sweep. An additional $5,000 bonus will go to any UMP Super Late Model driver who can win three of the four races. Will Billy Moyer be able to defend his victory from last year at PIR? Dennis Erb is also one driver who is expected to rise to the occasion. Last year 33 cars showed up to do battle for the winner’s share of the purse. Can one of the tough locals like the father-son duo of Terry and Tanner English, Jarryd Holshouser, Jeff Walston, Randy Sellars, Jason McBride, or current points leader and defending Track Champion Kevin Cole go four for four?
Night one of the Tri-State Challenge will take place at the historical Highland Speedway on Wednesday, June 2nd; Night 2 takes place at Shepp’s Speedway on Thursday, June 3rd; Night 3 will be at Paducah International Raceway on Friday, June 4th; and the finale will take place at I-55 Raceway on Saturday, June 5th.
Pit Gates open at 3:00 PM and Grandstands open at 5:00 PM. Hot Laps are at 6:30 PM and racing starts at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20 for Adults and Children 12 and under are $5. Pit Admission is $30. Also on the card for June 4th are the Pro (Crate) Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Cylinder Warriors, and the High School Warriors.
Mark your calendars for Friday, June 18th and Saturday, June 19th when the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam attacks Paducah International Raceway. This two-day show will feature Monster favorites Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, War Wizard, Stone Crusher, Mopar Magic, and Grave Digger. Tickets are currently available through Ticketmaster.
2010 marks Paducah International Raceway’s fifth year with the current NASCAR driver owners. “Get Dirty” at PIR with racing every Friday night.
