PADUCAH, KY (9/10/06) -- Events are being added for coverage by Race1 Radio, the short-range (low band-width) FM radio, which broadcast events at facilities, allowing fans as well as competitors to tune-in to hear whats being said over the PA systems. Coverage of Dirt Super Late Model races is the forte of Steve Hixson, from Chattanooga, TN, whom is bringing his 15 plus years experience behind the microphone for the first time at Paducah (KY) International Raceway. Friday night, September 15th Race1 Radio will be broadcasting the "Knuckle Busters" sponsored $6,000 to win, UMP/MARS co-sanctioned "USA World 50" Wayne Coakley / Bob Memmer Memorial event.

Hixson who'se broadcasted for many years in the South at tracks such as Cleveland (TN) Speedway, North Georgia Speedway, Crossville (TN) Raceway, and Lavonia (GA) Speedway, has worked up North in the past with Bill Nelson's Northern All-Star Late Model Series and at the Farmer City Raceway near Champaign, IL. Legendary promoter B.J. Parker and the Southern All-Star series have a long history with Hixson, prior to his Race1 Radio days, which includes covering many of the Souths high profile shows (ie. "National 100" at East Alabama Motor Speedway and the "Ice-Bowl at Talladega Short Track). Along with the PIR regular track announcer, Hixson will be able to be heard simultaneously over the public address system at the track for all divisions.

Race1 Radio’s signal (much like at today's drive-in movie theatres) will be accessible around the entire facility, including the grandstand area, track-side parking and in the pits. The big rig racecar haulers all tune-in as to be alerted to hot lap practice, qualifying, heat races, and mains throught their radio/stereo systems inside the trailers. "I’m really excited about the opportunity to broadcast at PIR for this event," stated Hixson. "I only get to work a handful of events with the sports Northern racing legends, each year, but I follow their respective races through the trade papers and on the internet."

For racing fans, competitors, and/or promoters that have never been able to tune-in to Race1 Radio broadcasts, Sports Plus Video (www.sportsplusvideo.com) recently captured the $20,000 to win "Scortcher 100" at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN. Hixson and WoOLMs announcer Rick Eshelman teamed up on the microphone, and the DVD of the event is availble to be purchased. Also, recently Comcast Spotlight of middle Tennessee / Western Kentucky caught the Race1 Radio broadcast at the Duck River Speedway, Southern Regional Racing Series event. Currently a planned return to DRS and Race1 Radio's home track in Cleveland, TN are on the schedule for later this season.

NASCAR superstars Dale Earnhardt Jr., Ken Schrader, and Midwest Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah (KY) International Raceway back in November of 2005. The 3/8th mile, high banked dirt oval is conveniently located off of I-24 and exit 11 in Paducah, KY. "I encourage everyone attending to bring their NASCAR headsets and/or portable radios and listen to the racing action announced over Race1 Radio" concluded Hixson.
