The FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance returned to action at the exciting 3/8th mile entitled “Redd’s Playground” the Screven Motor Sports Complex in Sylvania, GA for the conclusion of its double header weekend with the last race of the 2018 season with the 19th Annual Georgia State Outlaw Championship. With the drop of the green at hot laps it was official that #2n Matthew Nance would claim the 2018 FASTRAK National Touring $10,000 championship. In addition to that #01 Travis Pennington who collected a NEW nickname "Mr. Georgia" has he'd would sweep the weekend at Screven for the closing race of 2018 and winning all 4 touring races he claimed in the “Peach State”.

The race would feature 2018 Touring Champion on the pole and the defending winner of 2017 at Screven #6 Dillon Brown to take the final green of the season. On the jump Brown would allow the outside to work for him and he’d take the early lead. The race finale was stopped five times by single car problems with cars having cut tires or stalling but overall clean 50 lap feature. Brown would lead but slowly behind him was a fierce battle between #00 Carson Ferguson and #1n fast qualifier Jordy Nipper.

The race would take a dramatic change just before halfway when #01 Travis Pennington would begin to make his rally after starting inside the top 10 to close in on Brown, after several restart attempts made with Brown holding him off on lap 26 Pennington would dive with a slider to the inside on the Brown machine off turn one to take the top spot. Meanwhile #2n Nance who claimed the championship was trying hard to battle for the victory making daring moves inside the #2n machine he recently purchased from Ultimate Southeast Super Late Models 3rd place points finisher Joey Coulter from Tampa, FL. At one point on the restart Nance drove under the fuel cell of Nipper’s car diving into tur one to make his move to try and run down Pennington for the P1 spot.

A late race caution would fall with 6 laps to go on lap 44 has Pennington was so strong he was making a run to put the 6th place machine a lap down or more. The caution would fly after earlier race leader #6 Dillon Brown would spin and break radiator off turn four. On the restart Nance would try to use a high side maneuver to try and capitalize on getting around Pennington but he just would be for not, as Pennington would prevail over all comers to take the $3000 payday, 2nd went to Nance who was content with the ride taking the 2018 Championship, while 2018 East Coast Rumble champion #00 Carson Ferguson would take 3rd , #1n Jordy Nipper and #55 Matt Long would wrap up the top five finishers on the final race at Sylvania, GA for the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance 15th consecutive season of racing.
