What late model drivers will be racing and who in the mods????

Will the 83 car I am assuming this is morris will he be racing at flora clay county speedway on friday night in the challenge of champions race I hope so love to see him run that cat car.

Here is a list of possibles, but don't hold me to them:

Ed Dixon
Kevin Gundaker
Tim Ratajczyk
Don O'Neal
Billy Moyer
Shannon Babb
Kevin Weaver
Dan Schlieper
Randy Korte
Terry English
Justin Allgaier

Could be 30-40 UMP Late Models. Wish for good weather.

Birky said he was undecided between goin to the Xtreme races in the Carolina's or coming to Pevely and the Mile on Sunday. He said he really likes Pevely and needs to work on some new set-ups for next year. He also mentioned winning last years Mile race. It almost seemed to me that he was giving up on the point race with Bloomer. Guess we will find out on Saturday!

How about Roger Long, Bob Pierce, Bill Frye, Kevin Claycomb, Dewayne Kiefer, Billy Drake, Wendall Wallace, and Brian Shirley?

Claycomb and Shirley may want to get some track time before the Challenge race in October.

I'm sure Bill Frye and Wendell Wallace will go to the MARS race at I-44 Speedway.

Driver Attendance

Just finished up checking as many driver's websites as I could find. Not too many had dates posted, here are a few drivers who did have posts for their schedules as well as some based upon posts from stl. Who knows in the end who will be there, regardless it will be a good show...

I-55

-M. Faust
-Kevin Weaver
-Shannon Babb
-Don O'Neal

Korte, Dixon, English and many others don't have anything posted yet or they have not updated their schedules.

According to their websites, the following drivers will be at I-44 for the 2-day MARS show. This event has a 2nd chance qualifying format on Sat. night so it doesn't look like they'll be many guys if any come up after Friday night unless they just get mad or something...

-Phillips
-Frye
-Wallace

The Yankee Dirt Classic is also going on this weekend so you can probably cancel out any of the guys who may have strayed down from Northern MO, IL/Southern IA. There is also a 10K to win race out east so those guys won't be around either. That's okay though, we'll have the UMP boys doin' it up right for us!!!

Pit pass price

Hey Spektater,
I just called my hubby at home about the pit passes for Saturday, and he said he looks for them to be probably about $28-$30, since it is a $10,000 to win payout. It is usually 20 for members and 23 for non-members, so what is another $10 to mingle with some of the best late model drivers in the country? Should be a good show.

I hope the "wolf" has a good showing on saturday nite....

i dont know how many guys from up north will be there because a racer from iowa that was at the world said that there is some big race up there this weekend called the "Yankee"....i dont if that is corrrect or not....

highlands lm championship is that night,it will be interesting to see how MONEY TALKS on this deal

the guys who think they have a chance will be there and the ones who dont will prob stay at highland.....the money will only have an influence on the ones who are good enough to win....

Trevor,

I just talked to my husband, who owns the 441, and I believe they are going to Montgomery County this Saturday night(don't quote me on that). They talked about where else to go, since a lot of big guns will be there, and they feel like trying to a different track, especially with the competition so fierce at I-55. Maybe time for a change in scenery????? Good luck to all the drivers that go to get a piece of that Pepsi cash!!

Yes, that is correct. The Yankee Dirt Classic is always the same weekend as the I55 Pepsi Nationals. Held at Farley Speedway it is a big event in the NE, MN, IA, WI area. So most of those drivers will stay up that way.

Basically I think we're looking at the UMP regulars plus MAYBE Moyer, Babb and a couple of others. I wouldn't look to see Schlieper or Birky tough.

If I55 could move this race back one weekend in the future I think the car count would increase dramatically.

Over the last three years the car count has been good -
2000 - 41
2001 - 34
2003 - 41
This is for the 24 starting spot in the feature. What is wrong with that car count with other shows in the county. And the drivers have been good - Billy Moyer, Don O'Neal, Bob Pierce, Kevin Weaver and Mike Mullvian have been there the last three years. Last year, there was Jay and Johnny Johnson, Terry English, Brian Burkhofer, Mark Burgtorf on hand. There are Iowa drivers in there.
Don't count out the outside drivers as the purse over the last three years has drawn some named drivers. Just wait until Saturday and see who comes in the pit gate. You, the fans, may want the best drivers for your entertainment dollar and you will get the action no matter who shows up.
