CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (Feb. 21) – The Performance Bodies brand returns to a broad contingency award program rewarding the accomplishments of many IMCA drivers this season.
In its 29th year as an IMCA sponsor, the Cedar Falls, Iowa, high performance parts retailer and race car body manufacturer will distribute approximately $17,000 in cash and product certificate prizes, with recipients determined by national, regional, special series or rookie point standings.
Performance Bodies returns to national decal programs for both the Modified and Hobby Stock divisions, and as the primary sponsor of national Hobby Stock and Northern and Southern SportMod rookie of the year awards.
All drivers in those divisions must display two Performance Bodies decals on their race car to be eligible for any post-season contingencies.
Top five finishers and the top three rookies in each of the five Modified regions, as well as top five drivers in national standings for the Karl Chevrolet Northern and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMod divisions receive a spruce-up special package, which includes two doors and two quarter panels and is valued at $229, or a $100 product certificate.
Rookies of the year in each SportMod division get the same choice of spruce-up special package or product certificate.
Top 10 finishers in both Stock Car regions, the top 10 in both Hobby Stock regions and national rookies of the year in both divisions receive nosepiece and headlight decal kits worth $135 each.
Top 10 drivers in the Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models get nosepiece and headlight decal kits valued at $150.
"This is one of the programs that is really custom-fit for drivers in each sanctioned division,” said IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “There are very few racers who compete 40 or 50 nights a year that couldn't use a new body or nosepiece, which is what makes the Performance Bodies awards as good as cash."
Information about Performance Bodies products is available by calling 800 722-4641 and at the www.performancebodies.com website.
Decals will be included in packets mailed from the IMCA home office beginning next month. Rookie of the year applications must be submitted by Aug. 1.
