The NSL has signed the following twelve current World of Outlaws series drivers and teams to 3-year agreements beginning with the 2006 season: Steve Kinser, Jason Meyers, Kraig Kinser, Danny “The Dude” Lasoski, Tim Shaffer, Paul McMahan, Joey Saldana, Jason Sides, Brian Paulus, Brandon Wimmer, Shane Stewart and Jason Solwold. The series has also received commitments from 3 - time World of Outlaws series champion Sammy Swindell, 16 - time World of Outlaws championship car owner Karl Kinser and long time team owner Dennis Roth to run in 2006.

“We looked at acquiring this series a couple of years ago,” said Kyle Petty, CEO of Petty Enterprises. “The foundation of drivers, owners, tracks, sponsors and fans combined with the Petty family of partners and resources is the primary reason for our desire to create this series. We are especially excited that Nextel Cup points leader Tony Stewart has joined our series as a team owner and track promoter. Obviously, Tony, as well as, fellow Nascar friends, Kenny Schrader, Dave Blaney and Kasey Kahne have their roots in sprint car racing. It's really a natural extension for RPDE in the motorsports entertainment arena. The Richard Petty Driving Experience is a huge part of our family business and it will provide an incredible infrastructure for this business. We fully intend to leverage our brand, assets and resources by increasing the exposure and awareness of the series through promotion, partnership integration and marketing activation. Our ultimate goal is to provide the highest quality sprint car racing in the world.”

“I am very excited to join the Pettys in this new series,” said 19 - time World of Outlaws sprint car champion, Steve Kinser. “The Pettys have been in the racing business for over 50 years and they understand what it takes to promote a successful motorsports series. To have them as series owners is an opportunity of a lifetime. I can hardly wait for next season.”

The NSL is making significant progress in organizing the 2006 championship schedule and is in discussions with several corporate partners regarding series sponsorship. In addition, the group is in the process of securing a comprehensive television package for the series.

“We plan on bringing our show to many of the famed sprint car tracks such as Eldora Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway and Knoxville Raceway,” said 7-time NASCAR champion, Richard Petty. “The initial response within the industry has been phenomenal. Our primary goal is to deliver a series that will benefit everyone involved; drivers, owners, tracks, sponsors and most importantly, the race fans,” said Petty. “This stuff reminds me of how racing was when I began to race 50 years ago, I love it,” exclaimed the King.
