The MARS DIRTcar Series has just been informed that tire samples collected at each race during the co-sanctioned "Showdown in the Heartland II" with the O'Reilly NCRA have come back negative for tire softening chemicals for race winners: Terry Phillips, Kelly Boen and Eric Turner.

Tire samples from each driver was sent off to an independent lab for testing on May 11, 2010. Copies of the results will be posted at the MARS DIRTcar Series trailer for driver inspection.

The "Showdown in the Heartland II" consisted of four races in four days May 6 - 9, 2010 beginning with 81 Speedway in Park City, KS (Terry Phillips) then moving to Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, OK (Kelly Boen). Night three was at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, OK (Eric Turner) and the final night at Monett Speedway in Monett, MO was rained out.

The MARS DIRTcar Series began tire testing at every event for the 2010 season in an effort to maintain the fairness of competition for all race teams competing in MARS DIRTcar Series events.

Chemically altering tires in a MARS DIRTcar Series event will result in forfeit or driver's winnings and points for that race, a $4,000 fine and 6 month suspension from any UMP DIRTcar race.
