On Saturday, June 4th, Big River Sand Drags in Bonne Terre will host "Pick-up Trucks For the American Red Cross Night." All pick-up trucks are invited to come and race on the 300-foot sand drag track that night with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross. Full-sized or small pick-ups, four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive, V-8's or 4-cylinder trucks are invited to attend.
"These are just your ordinary trucks you see on the highway every day for the most part," said Big River Public Relations Director Jeff Mills. "If you've ever wanted to try this sport out this is your golden opportunity while at the same time helping out the American Red Cross."
All that is needed to participate is your pick-up truck and a helmet. The entry fee is $25 and it goes to the American Red Cross.
Gates will open at 3 p.m. on June 4th with time trials starting at 4. Registration will end at 6 p.m. with actual racing starting at 7. Persons interested in racing that night need to be there at least by 5:30 or so to get their paper work and time trial practices taken care of.
