VINTON, Iowa (Sept. 21) – The 2011 weekly point season for seven IMCA divisions ends this Sunday, Sept. 25.
Final races are scheduled for the IMCA Modified, IMCA Sprint Car, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMod and Mach-1 Sport Compact classes.
Bonus points for track championships will be figured and national champions and rookies of the year announced as soon as possible. Regional champions and rookies of the year will also be named for the Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks.
Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, Ill., repeated as national champion and Travis Denning of Sterling, Ill., was the top rookie in the IMCA Late Model division. Final point races for that division were held Aug. 28.
IMCA’s national awards banquet is Saturday, Nov. 26 in Lincoln, Neb.
