POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- (Oct. 15, 2005) Greg King of Sikeston picked up the checkered flag in the Modified class feature Saturday night at the Poplar Bluff Speedway. King edged out Billy "The Kidd" Smith of Park Hills for the win.
Billy James of Sikeston also posted an outstanding night Saturday by picking up feature wins in both the Late Model class and the Super Street class. Kyle Berry of Poplar Bluff was the Pure Street feature winner while John Leahy of Ironton won the Dwarf car class. The team of Larmie and Stevenson combined to take home the checkered flag in the Cruiser class feature.
The Poplar Bluff Speedway will be hosting a special three-day racing event this weekend (Oct. 20, 21 and 22) that includes a Modified feature race paying the winner $6,060! The event, known as the Modified Summer 60, is a 60-lap race using IMCA rules. Modifieds must qualify on Friday night to be eligible for the Saturday feature. No exceptions! All Saturday cars who don't make the feature will receive $100. Event order is subject to change due to actual car count. Monies will remain the same. The event is the final racing event of the season at Poplar Bluff.
