The 2009 racing season is getting ready to fire up with its first of two test and tunes. The first is scheduled for Saturday March 14, 2009 from 12:00pm until 4:00pm. Pit admission will be $15.00 for anyone entering the pit area. Anyone under the age of 18 will have to a biological parent or court appointed guardian to sign a release form. All cars planning on racing the high banks of PIR are encouraged to come out and test and tune. The grand stands will be open for this test and tune and admission is free.
Concessions will be available

The 2009 Racing Season officially begins on Friday March 27, 2009. Classes running opening night will be the UMP late Models, UMP Modifieds, Ump Pro Late Model, UMP Street Stock and the UMP Warrior Division. The Kentucky Vintage Association will be racing at Paducah International Raceway on selected nights though out the year.

The track is now selling reserved seats for the following races. April 17th World of Outlaws, April 23rd NASCAR Night of Stars 1 with Tony Stewart and the May 2nd Lucas Oil Late Model Race. You can contact the track for more information.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of co-owners as a partner in September of 2006. In 2009 the 3/8th mile high-banked oval will host several high profile events including two NASCAR Nights of Stars, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, the USA World 50, Tri-Track Challenge and for the first time the Lucas Oil Late Model Series will be racing on the High banks of Paducah International Raceway.
