Inside Line Promotions - SAPULPA, Okla. (Oct. 17, 2019) - Robbie Price brought home a ninth-place finish last Saturday during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Fall Fling hosted by Creek County Speedway.

Rain cancelled Friday night's opener, cutting the scheduled two-night event to one day. Price made the most of Saturday's race by posting his 17 th top 10 of the season.

"We had a really fast race car and if not for some tough luck we were right in the thick of things," he said. "But overall it was a great night and something to feel good about."

Price began the night starting sixth in a heat race. He passed three cars to finish third. As a result, Price made the feature redraw and he pulled the fourth starting position for the A Main.

"We were really good on the bottom and did well in the heat race and positioned ourselves well the rest of the night," he said. "I was feeling really good about the car and the speed we had entering the feature."

Price showed speed early and at one point he passed for third before a caution negated the pass. Following a restart where a few cars in front of him bobbled, Price went to the top of the track to avoid a potential wreck and got over the berm. That cost him several positions. With limited laps remaining, Price settled for ninth at the checkered flag.

"The car felt really good and we were in a good position to contend for a victory," he said. "But unfortunately, we had to make a drastic move to avoid a wreck and we just ran out of time to recover. But overall it was a positive weekend where we showed we can compete at this level."

Next up for Price will be two nights of racing at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, this Friday and Saturday during the 46th annual Winter Nationals.

Sitting firmly in the seventh position in the ASCS championship standings, Price is hoping to finish out the year strong and believes he is hitting his stride at the right time of the year.

"I feel like we get better and better every time we hit the track," he said. "If we can put a whole night together instead of flashes here and there, we'll be up front and we can finish the year out strong. I feel really confident heading into Devil's Bowl about our program."
