ADAMS COUNTY FAIR AND LABOR DAY SHOW
Revision 5/11/08
$5000 to Win Labor Day Show – All cars will be impounded after inspection approval. Hoods and Trunks can not be closed, bolted or wired until inspection is complete. A Quincy Raceways official will observe this process, then car will go to impound and no work will be allowed until after your first event.
  • Each driver must fill out an entry form and sign the insurance waiver and release form. All drivers must be at least 18 years old.
  • Only one car per driver and proof of ownership may be required.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any entry.
  • The Promoter will not be held responsible for any cars, parts, or personal property before, during or after the show is over.
  • Each car must be signed in and inspected at least one hour before show time. DON’T BE LATE OR YOU WONT GET TO PARTICIPATE!!!!!!
  • Anyone under the influence or consuming alcoholic beverages in the pits will be cause for disqualification.
  • NO PAINTING, UNDERCOATING, OILING OR GREASING OF FRAMES. YOU WILL NOT BE INSPECTED, YOU WILL BE SENT HOME. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • It is the driver’s responsibility to be sure the car is legal. If you’ve done anything to the car that is questionable, then it would be in your best interest to point it out to the tech man before the demo starts. Just because a tech man didn’t see it when he inspected your car doesn’t mean it’s legal. TOP 5 WINNERS WILL BE RECHECKED, AFTER FEATURE.
  • All cars must run their heat or consi to qualify for the feature event. (Adams Co Fair and Labor day show) NO EXCEPTIONS, NO PROMOTOR ADD ONS.
  • NUMBERS: MUST BE ON A 3 SIDED 16” X 16” WHITE PANEL WITH BLACK NUMBERS SECURELY FASTENED TO CAR TOP.
    • All Cars must have 24-inch numbers on both sides of the car. Using a contrasting color such as black numbers on a white or yellow car, or white numbers on a dark colored car.



ELIGIBILITY:
  • Any American made passenger cars or station wagons allowed, EXCEPT NO CHRYSLER IMPERIALS or SUICIDE DOOR LINCOLNS ALLOWED. No trucks, convertibles, jeeps, hearses, limos, sedagons or 4 wheel drives.
REAR ENDS, TIRES, WHEELS, AND BRAKES:
  • Any factory made car rear ends are permitted, (5 lug maximum) including pos -tracks and limited slip differentials. No floater or truck rear ends. WELDED REAR ENDS ARE ALLOWED AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you don’t weld up the gears in your rear end you probably won’t have a chance of winning.
  • LIGHT TRUCK OR AUTOMOTIVE TYPE TIRES ALLOWED. Doubled tires are allowed, You may put another tire in side of a tire. NO foam or liquid filled tires. NO implement tires. 12-ply tow motor tires allowed. NO tires bigger than 15” (any ply) allowed. Any tires not clearly marked are illegal. Don’t fill tires with anything but air.
  • Cars must have dependable and sufficient brakes at all times.
BODY, BUMPERS, GLASS, DOORS, FENDERS:
  • All glass including windshield, side windows, rear windows, vents, head and tail parking lights must be removed BEFORE YOU GET TO THE DERBY. CLEAN THE GLASS OUT OF THE DOORS BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK WITH BROKEN GLASS IN THE DOOR.
  • Chrome molding strips and the bottom portion of the rear seats must be removed. Any sharp protruding fins or dangerous objects must be removed or mashed down.
  • No special bumpers, reinforcements, fabrications or trailer hitches permitted. Any iron other than original equipment must be removed. No truck bumpers on a car.
  • Cars must have a front and rear bumper. Bumpers must be in the stock / upright position. You can weld bumper directly to the frame however NO ADDED METAL MAY BE USED. No welding on frame except the bumper brackets and what is noted in #10 below.
  • There will be no chain or wire allowed between the bumper and the hood or trunk lid. For late model cars with shock tubes you can drain them, slide them back into tube and weld them up. You can also hold them back with a short chain, NO CHAIN AROUND BUMPER.
  • No doubling of body panels allowed, No added metal allowed.
  • All doors must be fastened shut by chain, wiring or welding. TAILGATES ON STATION WAGONS CAN ONLY BE WIRED SHUT, NOT WELDED. Drivers protection is permitted, ONE PIPE (MAXIMUM 5” O.D.) BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT, ONE PIPE (MAXIMUM 5”) ACROSS FRONT WHERE DASH USE TO BE. THEY CAN BE CONNECTED ON BOTH SIDES WITH A PIPE OR CHANNEL IRON. HOLD THE FRAME WORK UP WITH WIRE OR 3/8” CHAIN, do not weld it to car body. Steel over the driver’s door is permitted, but don’t get carried away.
  • Fenders may be cut 3” maximum for wheel clearance. Hook ends of bumpers may be cut off but NO SHARP EDGES. You can use a maximum of 8 - 3/8" bolts with washers per wheel well to pull body together
  • Car must be swept or hosed clean. NO JUNK TIRES, PAPER, GLASS AND ETC. ALLOWED IN TRUNK WELLS AND B0DY CAVITIES. HOSE IT OUT.


  • The only frame welding allowed, is from the front of the A-arms forward, TOP only, no more than a ½” WIDE BEAD. Absolutely NO welding of trunk lids, hoods, body seams or tail gates. Only the doors may be welded. No filling the body cavities with anything. Rubber body bushings may be removed. When you take the rubber bushing out, you must replace it with stacked washers at least 4 washers thick. These can not be welded to frame rail or the floor pan. The washers as spacers are so we can check frame rail from front to back. We will check frame rails for welding, and we will check inside frame rails for any extra work, that might have been done. No Body Switching.
  • Frames maybe notched behind rearends – 1 cut per side.
  • No painting, undercoating, oiling or greasing of frames. You will not be inspected, you will be sent home. NO Filling of the Frames WITH ANYTHING. WE WILL LOOK IN FRAME!!
  • Maximum 1” all thread through the frame, limit (4) per EACH side of the car. WASHERS NO BIGGER THAN 6” IN DIAMETER, NOT THICKER THAN 5/16” ALLOWED. BODY MOUNT BOLTS CAN GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FRAME RAIL, THEY MUST BE REPLACED IN STOCK LOCATION!!! Maximum 1 inch all thread allowed!!!!
  • All hoods, trunks and tailgates must open for inspection by officials. THEN AND ONLY THEN MAY THE HOOD AND TRUNK LID BE TIED DOWN WITH EITHER WIRE OR BOLTS. Must be sheet metal to sheet metal. MAXIMUM of 6 3/8” bolts or 10 pieces of #9 wire (doubled is ok) per hood and trunk lid. Bolts and wire can go through the hood/trunk lid to the fender only!!! No chain around the frame to bodies. There will be no chain or wire allowed between the bumper and the hood or trunk lid. NO WASHERS OR PLATES BIGGER THAN 6” IN DIAMETER, NO THICKER THAN 5/16” ALLOWED.
  • NO CHAIN OR WIRE FROM FRAME RAIL TO FRAME RAIL BEHIND REAR AXLE.
ENGINE, RADIATOR, SUSPENSION:
  • Welded solid or chained down engine mounts are recommended.
  • Engine and transmission switching is allowed but must be mounted in stock location. If you need to make a cross member to hold transmission up, keep it to a bare minimum. If we consider it extra bracing, or you get carried away with too much metal or welding you will be D.Q. On “V” block motors, front spark plug must be even or in front of upper ball joint. On in-line motors, the #2 plug must be even or in front of upper ball joint.
  • You must have an air cleaner over the carburetor at all times.
  • No starting fluid allowed in car.






  • Radiators must be in stock position. OEM style radiators only, NO home made tube construction radiators. Transmission coolers are allowed and can be moved, but they must be enclosed or covered. Metal or braided line must be used for transmission cooler. No extra tanks or coolers. No chain or wire allowed for radiator protection, THIS MEANS NO WIRE, CHAIN OR STRAPPING IN FRONT OF RADIATOR. Lower radiator support body mount bushings, may be removed and replaced with maximum 1 inch bolts with normal washers for this size bolt. Anything bigger will be taken off, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
  • Suspension must remain strictly stock. Do not invert spring shackles on Fords and DO NOT crank up the torsion bars on Chrysler Corp. Cars. NO stiff suspensions, both ends of car must have a working suspension and bounce freely. Cars must be at a normal ride height. Airlift shocks must have lines cut. No blocks or spring spacers allowed. ANY CAR THAT APPEARS TO BE OVER NORMAL RIDE HEIGHT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE. Chain, wire or tack weld may be used to hold coil springs in position.
  • Leaf springs, 9 leaf maximum, 5/16” max thickness, 2 ½” wide maximum, 5 clamps per spring – 2 in front of the axle – 3 behind the axle. Leaf Springs may not be taped up until after inspection. CARS CANNOT BE FLAT SPRUNG.
  • NO welding on the spring pack.
9. Headers MUST come out the top of the hood, they must point straight up, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
SAFETY, BATTERY, GAS TANK, HELMET:
  • Only one automotive car type battery allowed and it may be moved inside the car in front of the passenger seat and it must be securely fastened in a protective box ( A PLASTIC BOAT BATTERY BOX OR A METAL BOX WITH FOAM OR SOMETHING NON CONDUCTIVE IN IT) and covered with a non-conductive cover. Positive battery post MUST be covered with a plastic cover.
  • Stock gas tanks must be removed from the car. Use of a boat tank (steel cans only – No plastic cans allowed) is highly recommended and it must be securely fastened down in the floorboard of the back seat. All tanks must have a tight fitting cap and have a covering of a fireproof or non-flammable material. The fire shield should be fastened to keep gas from spilling on the driver should the tank rupture. 3-gallon gas MAXIMUM. No Methanol Alcohol --- Fuel will be checked.
  • Fuel lines must run inside the car, not under the car along the frame.
  • Every driver must wear a safety belt and an approved helmet equipped with a face shield or goggles. Sunglasses are not considered sufficient eye protection.
  • ALL HOODS MUST REMAIN IN THE STOCK POSITION (this means, do not slide hood forward over radiator). AND HAVE TWO 12” HOLES CUT IN THEM IN CASE OF FIRE.
  • Fire suits are highly recommended but optional, but drivers must at least wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants, no shorts allowed.
  • Neck Braces are highly recommended.




THE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS SET FORTH HEREIN ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FOR THE ORDERLY CONDUCT OF DEMO EVENTS AND TO ESTABLISH MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH EVENTS. THESE RULES SHALL GOVERN THE CONDITIONS OF ALL DEMO EVENTS, AND BY PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS, ALL COMPETITORS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE COMPLIED WITH THESE RULES. NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED OR SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATION OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SPORT AND IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE AGAINST INJURY OR DEATH WHILE COMPETING IN THE EVENT.

There will be a $10.00 entry fee for the Great American Trailer Race on Labor Day.

ANYONE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OR DRINKING ALCOHOL BEVERAGES WHILE SIGNED INTO THE PIT AREA WILL BE SUSPENDED AND THE CAR DISQUALIFIED. DRIVERS REMEBER YOU ARE REASONSIBLE FOR YOUR PIT CREW!!!!!!
