BRITT, Iowa (May 27, 2005) – With two main events in the books, rain began to fall on the Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway Friday night to force the postponement of the final three feature races of the program on Sidetrack Lanes/Bauer’s Seamless Gutters Night.
The rained-out “A” mains for the USRA Modified, USRA Stock Car and Hornet divisions will kick off the action next Friday, June 3, with a full five-division program for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Championship Series to follow.
Prior to Mother Nature’s intervention, Kevin Knudson of Clear Lake and Calvin Lange of Humboldt were able to beat the rain and beat their respective fields on the 3/8-mile oval.
After a spin on lap 4 by leader Jeramie Faber, Knudson assumed the top spot and went on to lead the final six laps of the USRA B-Modified main event. Jared Boumeester, Jake Simpson, George Gilliland and Matt Lettow completed the top five finishers.
In the USRA Hobby Stock feature, Randy Hadacek paced the first five laps before giving way to John Madson. Madson led the next five laps, holding Hadacek and Lange at bay. Lange was finally able to slip past Madson on the low side and continued in front through the final four circuits for his second straight win at the Britt, Iowa, speedplant. Madson and Hadacek held on for second and third, respectively, while Gary Lalor and Chad Lundy rounded out the top-5.
The USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series continues next Friday, June 3, as the Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway hosts Backyard Deli Night, with eight feature races in five classes on the schedule. Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30.
