FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- The Fredericktown Raceway will be the scene of a re-dedication ceremony on Friday, March 30th, with everyone from the Fredericktown Chamber of Commerce to the Fredericktown High School ROTC Color Guard being involved.

"It's a whole new look and a whole new attitude," said track spokesman Jeff Mills. "If you've ever been to the Fredericktown Raceway in the past you're going to see improvements in virtually every corner when you come through the gate in 2007."

The track was recently purchased by John "Curley" DeBold and Anne DeBold of Fredericktown and since that time it has been a mad dash to get the track ready for the start of the 2007 racing season. Terry Flanagan of Fredericktown will once again serve as the track manager with Arlin Keith of Fredericktown taking the position of track preparation.

On Opening Night (March 30th), gates will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 7. The re-dedication ceremonies will get underway at 7:30 with a ribbon-cutting with the Fredericktown Chamber of Commerce. Following the invocation by Rev. Rick Lashley of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, David Mills of Farmington will sing the National Anthem (some fireworks from Barefoot Village to follow). The Ski Girls of Ski Cola are also scheduled to appear during the evening with giveaways compliments of Ski Cola and the Driver's Seat-Online Racing Newspaper. In case of inclement weather, all of the ceremonies will be held the following week.

This season the track will feature the CARS Late Models, "A" Modifieds, "B" Modifieds, Pure Streets, RAMS Mini Stocks and the Dwarf/Modlites. Ticket prices are also now set-up to make it convenient for families, with adult tickets to the grandstands only $10 with children ages 12 & under admitted FREE.

Harvetta Sutton will be providing video taping of the racing while Celia Crisp will be the track photographer for the 2007 season.

There will also be some two-day shows at the Fredericktown Raceway this season with the first event taking place on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21st. The Fredericktown Azalea Racefest will also return on Sunday, May 6th.
Prior to the season-opening event on March 30th, there will be a Car Show at the track on Saturday, March 17th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with trophies being given to the top two cars in each of the six regular classes. Play Day will follow on Friday, March 23rd. Gates will open that night at 4 p.m. There will be no admission charge to the grandstands. There will also be a special "pre-season" race that night featuring the CARS Late Models at the conclusion of Play Day with the top three racers splitting $500.
