NEW FLORENCE, MO (August 1)–-Hometown hero’s make their mark at Montgomery County Speedway. In the Budweiser UMP Late Model division “Flyin’” Bryan Collins of Elsberry, MO, won his heat race, dash and the 25 lap feature to win the Triple Crown for the night. Bryan held off a hard charging Mark Gansman, and Todd Rehg to pick up the nights victory.

Highlighting the top 5 for the feature was 1. 11z Bryan Collins, 2. 20 Mark Gansman, 3. 17v Todd Rehg, 4. 33p Keith Pratt, 5. 87r Ken Rumble.

In the Miller UMP A-Modified division New Florence’s own “Dancin’” Lance Kobusch dominated the competition, holding off 2004 UMP Modified Champion Mike Harrision, Timmy Hill and Tim Hancock to win the 20 lap feature event.

Rounding out the A-Modified top 5 was 1. 0 Lance Kobusch, 2. 24 Mike Harrison, 3. 13 Timmy Hill, 4. P0 Tim Hancock, 5. 4B Neil Wade, Jr.

In the B-Modified division Montgomery City’s own Craig Roden continued his complete domination of the class. Craig Roden has won 10 feature events this season and 6 features in a row.

Filling out the top 5 was 1. 27 Craig Roden, 2. 17k Brian Kinnaird, 3. 57 Dan Bimson, 4. 47 Frank Mangus, 5. 56 John Ambrose.

With their 4th and 5th place finishes Frank Mangus and John Ambrose had their best finishes to date at Montgomery County Speedway.

In the Pepsi Super Street division Park Hills, MO driver Matt Eaton made his first appearance at Montgomery County Speedway for 2005 and picked up his first feature event at the track. Matt was able to hold off Beau Davis and Daryl Dodge to pick up the win.

Recapping the top 5 was 1. 53 Matt Eaton, 2. 01 Beau Davis, 3. 18 Shawn Rayfield, 4. 75 Ron Imm, 5. 29 Chris Spaulding.

In the RAMS Mini Stock division Farmington, MO’s Dave Wofford, Jr. returned to victory lane by holding off the hard charging Wes Kintz and Rob Denny for the victory.

Rounding out the top 5 in the RAMS Mini Stock division was 1. 0 Dave Wofford, 2. 90 Wes Kintz, 3. 01 Rob Denny, 4. 343 Butch Hartman, 5. 42 Lane Ehlert.

After the races track owner Mel Kinnaird suffered an apparent heart attack and was taken to the hospital. All of us with the Montgomery County Speedway family would like to wish Mel a very speedy recovery.

Racing resumes August 6th.
