FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (Sept. 17, 2005) Kenny Kennedy of Farmington drove his #16 modified to victory lane Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway during the feature during the next to final night of points racing. Kennedy held off Kasey Burch of Farmington for the victory with Billy Smith of Park Hills taking third place, Tommy Worley Sr. of Farmington fourth and John Bohn of Farmington fifth. They were followed by points leader Mike Francis of Fredericktown, Jeremy Greenwalt of Potosi, Brent Thompson of Farmington, Jon Paul Reando of Festus and Duane Kiefer.
Danny Resinger won the first heat race with Worley second and Thompson third. Kennedy won the second heat with Smith second and Francis third. Bohn won the third heat with Burch second and Alan Conner third.
In the sprint car feature, Joey Montgomery of Fredericktown virtually clinched another track championship after sailing to victory. Jason Keith of Fredericktown was second with Tim Moss of Fredericktown third, Steve Short of Farmington fourth and Kent Buckley of Farmington fifth. They were followed by Keith Burch of Farmington, Bob Thoman, Nathan Higgins, Jimmy Brayton Jr. and Greg Burns.
Moss won the first heat race with Higgins second and Brayton third. Tommy Worley Jr. won the second heat race with Buckley second and Ricky Bougher third. Keith won the third heat with Montgomery second and Short third. Worley won the trophy dash with Keith second and Buckley third.
In the Sportsmen class, Leonard Betsch of Annapolis won his first-ever feature race at St. Francois County with Matt Eaton of Park Hills second, Doug Savage of Farmington third, Kevin Mosier of Stoney Point fourth and Kenny Harris of Desloge fifth. They were followed by Randy Forster of Farmington, Chris West, Donnie Mosier, John Goodson and Nathan Gibson.
Eaton won the heat race with Betsch second and Gibson third.
In the 600cc Multi class, Joey Boyd of Farmington was the feature winner with Chris Massey second, Tom Dickerman third, Jimmy Bridgeman fourth and Jimmy Stearns fifth. They were followed by Dustin Barks, Brian Keen, Ray Statler, Jim Tickle and Rodney Williams.
Bridgeman won the first heat with Massey second and Williams third. Dickerman won the second heat with Casey Barnhouse second and Andy Malpocker third.
In the Pure Street class, Travis Goodman of Fredericktown picked up his first feature win of the season with Mike Abney second, Josh DeSpain third, Mike Savage fourth and Bill Skaggs fifth. They were followed by Chris Webb, 2005 track champion Mark Todd, Ray Dodd, Shawn Griffen and Jeremy Womble.
Savage won the first heat with DeSpain second and Bill Skaggs third. Abney won the second heat with Goodman second and Lenny Terrell third.
The final night of the 2005 regular season will be held this Saturday night. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults with kids 12 and under admitted free.
The final night of the 2005 season will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1st with the annual Queen's Royale sprint car extravaganza. Top sprint drivers from all over the United States will converge on Farmington for the $5,000 to win event (with a possibility of $9,000 to win including lap money).
