Just a couple weeks remain before another chapter is written in the long and storied history of dirt racing at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Opening night at Missouri State Fair Speedway (MSFS) presented by AFLAC will take place on Friday, April 16th with the W-K Chevrolet MAMS Modifieds, 360 Sprint Cars, and Subway Late Models all poised to conquer the Historic Half Mile. Missouri native and legendary racer Ken Schrader will be on hand for the Rick Ball Ford season opener to meet and greet fans and plans are for him to compete in either the MAMS Modified or Subway Late Model division. Modifieds will race for $1,200-to-win and $250-to-start the featured main event; additional MAMS series information may be found on the official MAMS website at www.midamericamodifieds.com.

Several vendors and businesses will showcase and display their products and services to fans on opening night. Sprint car fans will not want to miss their chance to win an actual complete Outlaw 410 Sprint Car with a J&J Chassis and Paul Kistler engine! The car will be on display and fans will have a chance to purchase raffle tickets for $20 each or 6 tickets for $100. All proceeds benefit the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum located on the Marion County Fairgrounds in Knoxville, Iowa. The Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week throughout the year and each year proceeds from raffle tickets help keep the establishment open to the public. The national and world champion Nauti Marine offshore racing boat will also be on full display. Visit nautiboats.com for detailed information regarding the championship racing program. The Lucas Oil Products Dirt Late Model Simulator Car and the #99 Aflac Dirt Late Model will also be on hand. The Missouri Army National Guard is scheduled to bring their climbing rock wall, a recruiting H-3 HMWWV, and a tactical UP Armor HMWWV. Greg Smith Ford, Mid MO Auto Sales, W-K Chevrolet, and MSFS Official Tow Service, Don’s Towing, will each have displays on the vendor midway. Kiowa Line Builders, another MSFS business partner, will have their presence known at the speedway as up-and-coming sprint car driver Jonathan Cornell will race in the 360 sprint division gunning for the win on opening night.
