(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) World of Outlaws Stacker2 Late Model Series “Dirty
Dozen” driver Rick Eckert, of York, Pennsylvania, posted a pair of Top Five
finishes last weekend in Outlaw competition. The driver of the Raye Vest /
J&J Steel #24 Rocket / Cornett Ford Taurus finished fourth in the $10,000 to
win event last Friday at the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles,
Ohio. Rick started the 50-lap feature event on the 3/8-mile, high-banked
clay tri-oval from the sixth position.

The team posted another strong points night the following evening at the
Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. Rick finished third in his heat
race to advance to the $10,000 to win ‘Armed Forces Day 60’. The man dubbed
“Scrub” advanced from his ninth place starting position in the 60-lap affair
to finish a solid third. Rick was engaged in a fierce battle with Dale
McDowell and Darrell Lanigan in the waning laps of the event, with Eckert
getting the upper hand at the end to take the third spot. The event was
taped by the SPEED Channel cameras for broadcast on Saturday, July 9 at 4:00
p.m. EDT.

The #24 is currently sits second in the 2005 World of Outlaws Stacker2 Late
Model Series point standings after eight events. He trails point leader
Billy Moyer, Jr. by only thirty-eight points. Rick has amassed five Top
Five and six Top Ten finishes in the eight events this season and has racked
up $18,900 in prize money. The York, Pennsylvania driver finished third in
last year's inaugural version of the WoO point standings.

“We are pretty consistent right now, but we need to take that next step and
reach victory lane a few times,” said Eckert earlier this week. “Second in
points with the Outlaws isn’t bad, but we need to start winning some races
to gain points on (Billy) Moyer because he is running so strong. I am
looking forward to taking a week off from point racing and going to the
Show-Me 100. We have had a few good runs at West Plains (MO) in the past,
but we are bringing a different type of car than we have had in the past.
This style of car should be better in the slick there.”

Rick and the Raye Vest Racing team are already headed towards Missouri to
compete in the largest paying Dirt Late Model event so far this season.
O’Reilly Auto Parts will present the 13th Annual ‘Show-Me 100’ this Thursday
through Saturday at the West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri.
The action kicks off on the 3/8-mile, red clay oval on Thursday with an
open practice session. Time Trials, a Manufacturer’s Dash, and a Past
Champions Race will highlight the Dirt Late Model portion of the racing
action on Friday evening. Saturday will feature heat races, last chance
events, and the 100-lap, $39,000 to win ‘Show-Me 100.’ The mega-event will
pay $3,900 just to start the feature race. For more information regarding
the popular unsanctioned event, point your web browser to
