Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, PA has joined as FASTRAK Weekly Sanctioned for the 2020 season, with a 3-year deal. That will keep the 3/8-mile oval under that FASTRAK banner through the 2022 racing season. Roaring Knob races on Sundays, which will give area drivers more opportunities to collect points towards the $10,000 to win FASTRAK VP Racing Fuels National Weekly Championship.
“This is great for the drivers in the Southwest Pennsylvania area,” said FASTRAK Vice President DJ Irvine, “Having the option to race at Roaring Knob on Sundays will give them more opportunities to gain points towards the Championship.”
By joining the FASTRAK family, the Hoosier FT200 and FT400 will be the only tires allowed in the class at Roaring Knob. The 2020 FASTRAK Racing Series rule book is expected to be released this week.
“We saw a strong weekly turn out in that area in 2019,” continued Irvine, “nearby tracks were averaging 15 to 20 cars per week last season, so I expect that trend to continue at Roaring Knob.”
Roaring Knob joins Latrobe Speedway and Hagerstown Speedway in the area. Opening night is slated for April 26th. FASTRAK drivers should complete their membership form and send them in as soon as possible, as points do not count until membership is received by FASTRAK.
