Robbins triples at Doe Run Raceway

DOE RUN, MO--(June 6, 2004) Tyler Robbins picked up his first triple crown of the season in the 600 cc Multi class at Doe Run Raceway this past Friday night. Robbins, who started the A-Main from the front row, grabbed the lead when the green flag dropped and led all 20 laps to put the finishing touches on his triple crown.

Following Robbins across the line in the A-Main were Jimmy Bridgeman, Tony Roney, Junior Ferguson and Shawn Merritt. Bridgeman earned a victory in the first heat with Brian Keen finishing second and Roney third. Ferguson finished behind Robbins in the second heat with Jeremy Boyer third. In the dash, it was Jimmy Bridgeman second behind Robbins and Junior Ferguson third.

Marty Boyer has been a frequent visitor to victory lane in the Mini Stock class this season and this past Friday night was no exception with Boyer winning both the A-Main and his heat race. In the A-Main, Eric Bellew crossed the line second behind Boyer, Keith Buckley third, Phil Norris fourth and Brian McGee fifth. Bellew grabbed second behind Boyer in the first heat with Norris third. Buckley carried the checkers in the second heat followed by Chuck White in second and McGee in third.

In the Dwarf Car A-Main, Mike Zaricor and John Leahy Jr. kept the fans on the edge of their seats with side by side racing up until the final turn of the final lap. At the green flag, Leahy jumped out in front and led 14 3/4 laps until Zaricor flew by him on the last turn of the last lap to snatch the win. Rounding out the top five were Vince Conway, Steve Copeland and Dave Huffman. Leahy won the first heat, Bobby Black second and Huffman third. Zaricor won the second heat with Jim Black second and Copeland third.
Leahy won the six lap dash with Bobby Black second and Copeland third.

Scott Hutchins was another first time winner at the Raceway Friday night, earning his first A-Main win of the season. Brad Paquet finished in second, Landon Barks third, Jesse Wright fourth and Michael Hutchison fifth. Braydon Wright won the heat race followed by his brother Jesse in second place and Paquet in third.

Michael Harp returned to the Raceway and to the winners circle in the Super Stock Kart A-Main. Last week's winner Megan Bell finished a strong second to Harp, Wayne Arnold third, Kodi Giessing fourth and Brad Paquet fifth. Arnold won the heat race followed by Harp and Bell.

Racing will resume Friday June 11th with all classes participating. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., practice at 7:30 p.m., racing begins at 8:00 p.m. For more information please call (573) 756-8889.
