Rolla Speedway Racing Exposition

Over the weekend Jimmy Fohn and Dustin Blake and I think some others did some exposition running at the 1/2 mile high banked paved Rolla Speedway that hasn't been raced on for over 40 years. This was done as a part of the fair in Rolla with hopes of being able to re open for a racing program in the future. There is some video of this posted on Facebook.

Marty here----Track looks real good. Lake Hill would have held up had it not been for all the flooding over the years. Watched many a race from that pit pass shack. Len Dillman was a former Valley Park police chief who took care of the gate and my uncle Al Krshul took care of signing in the crews many a night. Please let us know if races are a possible. I will keep an eye out for future information. Thanks Dave.

There have been a couple of times people have tried to get Rolla opened up.
Each time it seems very promising until they go back before a judge.
One can only hope that whomever it is that is friends with the judges has moved away and will not sway the judge.

THANX RICH

Marty here---Something most people never knew was Lake Hill and Rolla have asphalt that was formulated at IMS. Our paving people were given the formula after many calls to IMS wanting to use the best formula for racing and longevity. Red Miller had his people contact ours when he was building the track. Guess it pays to ask the people who know the answers.
