DOE RUN, MO--(May 30, 2003) Tony Roney of Herculaneum, MO put the demons to rest this past Friday with a triple crown night at the Doe Run Raceway. Roney had been challenging for second place in last week's $500 race until getting tangled up with Farmington's Casey Barnhouse. Roney put that out of his mind and concentrated on the task at hand, which was to win races.

By winning his heat race and the dash, Roney locked in a front row starting position for the feature race. At the green flag, Roney jumped out in front and never looked back. Casey Barnhouse and Junior Ferguson challenged Roney throughout the 20 lap race, but could not close the gap and Roney sailed to the victory. Rounding out the top five were Barnhouse, Ferguson, points leader Derek O'Dell and Kent Buckley. Barnhouse picked up a win in the first heat with Ferguson second and O'Dell third. Jimmy Bridgeman finished second to Roney in the second heat with Tommy Boyd third. Kent Buckley was the winner of the third heat with Rob Larson second and Zach Schneider third. Barnhouse was second to Roney in the dash with Ferguson finishing third.

The Dwarf car class continues to be an welcome addition to the raceway with 17 cars signed in for the evening's competition. Vince Conway came from starting 12th to pass pole sitter Steve Copeland on the white flag lap for the feature win. Copeland finished second, Mike Zaricor third, Bobby Black fourth and Joey Schmidt fifth. Copeland won the first heat with Black second and Mark Yates third. Zaricor won the second heat with Dom Wadlow second and Sam Layton third.

It was once again Eric Bellew's night to shine in the Mini Stock class, beating out Chuck White for his third feature win of the season. Carl Bellew finished third, Ron Moser fourth and Chris Pettus fifth. White finished second to Eric in the heat race with Pettus bringing home third.

Michael Harp once again raced his way to victories in both events in the Super Stock Kart class. Wayne Arnold was second to Harp in the feature and the heat race. Kyle Jarrett was third in the feature with Megan Bell finishing third in the heat race.

Jesse Wright earned his first feature win of the season in the Stock Kart class, holding off the challenge of his brother Braydon. Wayne Arnold finished third, Landon Barks fourth and Brad Paquet fifth. Braydon Wright added a "W" to the win column by winning the heat race. Arnold finished second and Jesse Wright third.
