Clarksdale, Mississippi (05/01/13) – Ross Camponovo enjoyed a great weekend by the wheel of his new #18 Camponovo Farms/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/RPM Racing Engine Super Late Model with a pair of top five finishes in his home state of Mississippi.

Action began on a strong note on Friday night as Camponovo traveled to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) for a $2,000-to-win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event at the 1/4 mile oval. With twenty-six Super Late Models on hand Ross blazed to the fast time honors in his group, and then backed it up by winning the dash to lock into the pole starting spot for the 40 lap feature with Jimmy Cliburn joining him on the front row. For the duration of the feature Camponovo battled in the top five before crossing the finish line in fifth behind race winner, Chris Wall, David Breazeale, Jimmy Cliburn, and Rick Rickman. On Saturday night under threatening skies Ross competed at his home track, Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) in a $2,500-to-win, Southern United Professional Racers (SUPR) Super Late Model event. Twenty entries took to the 1/4 mile oval for the facilities' season opener, and via preliminary action Camponovo earned the fourteenth starting spot for the 40 lap finale.
